PIEDMONT, CALIFORNIA: Yuri Brand, a burglar from Piedmont, broke into a house and stayed there for two days.

The man allegedly stuffed himself with food and drinks worth $1K, as per the owners.

According to San Francisco Fox, the 39-year-old broke into the house on September 8 and decided to make the place his home for the next two days.

The owners, who were out on vacation, came back to find out that the burglar stayed at their house and ate as much as he could. Brand left the home in disarray, but he was caught on the security camera hanging out and inside the property.

Yuri Brand was arrested and charged on counts of burglary and tresspassing

The Piedmont Police Department went through the footage and discovered that the burglar had been arrested earlier in the day on a trespassing charge, reports Law and Crime.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office booked Brand with burglary and trespassing. The accused is a convicted burglar from a previous time, the outlet reports. One of the homeowners said, “makes me a little on guard.”

Another burglar in California stole valuable family items

In another burglary incident reported in California, home camera footage showed a burglar breaking in while the family was out for dinner.

“We actually got a notification on my phone that said something like ‘unfamiliar face seen upstairs,’ and so I looked at my phone, and we just saw it all happen and unfold right in front of us,” Tamara Schlachter, the home owner said, as per Fox 11.

The burglar managed to steal valuable and priceless family items. It included a pearl necklace that her father gave her when she was born.

“There’s people coming in stealing, taking away our safety, which is the most important thing is just that feeling of the loss of safety. Things can be replaced, but I want families to feel safe in their own homes,” she told the outlet.
