GLEN BURNIE, MARYLAND: Trevor Taylor, a 26-year-old man from Glen Burnie, was recently arrested in connection to the killing of Maryland father Christopher Wright, who was beaten to death by a group of men in front of his Brooklyn Park home back in May. The feud reportedly stemmed from a fight that took place at a school involving Wright's son and Taylor's nephew, who are both 14 years old, due to a disagreement over $30.

Taylor reportedly went to Wright's home accompanied by three teenagers and another adult to confront his son, Trenton, before the two parties got embroiled in an altercation that eventually led to Wright being fatally beaten. The Anne Arundel County Police said, "The facts of this case were presented to the State's Attorney's Office for review," on Wednesday, July 19. "After consultation with the State's Attorney, homicide detectives applied for charges for Trevor Garrett Taylor in the death of Mr. Christopher Wright. A warrant was issued yesterday by the Court Commissioner," a statement read. Taylor is being held without bail as the judge believes he could pose a safety risk, as reported by CBS News.

What is known about Trevor Taylor?

Taylor is a 26-year-old man from Glen Burnie, Maryland, who was recently arrested for the brutal murder of Wright and charged with manslaughter, assault, and disorderly conduct. He reportedly went to Wright's Brooklyn Park home on May 19 to confront his son, Trenton, who allegedly got into a fight with the former's nephew at Brooklyn Park Middle School. Taylor supposedly wanted his nephew to fight Wright's son outside their home and threatened to fight Wright if the two boys were not allowed to have a confrontation, as per court documents. Witnesses said that "during the incident, it became clear to the Wright family that Trevor Taylor and his associates were not going to leave and were likely going to force their way into the house."

The court documents reveal that Wright punched Taylor as the latter continued to throw assault threats toward him. Shortly after, Taylor and the other adult began punching Wright. The 26-year-old allegedly grabbed Wright's legs and slammed his head against the pavement after he fell, continuing to assault him. Disturbing footage from a nearby security camera showed Taylor and his gang repeatedly attacking Wright along with punching his head.

How did Christopher Wright die?

Heartbreaking footage from the scene showed Wright confronting two adults and three teenagers outside his home on May 19. His fiance, Tracy Karopchinsky, later said that one of the adults told Wright he would have to fight with the gang if his son would not. Footages show Wright, dressed in a white T-shirt, speaking to the group amid the standoff and pointing to his left.

Shortly after having a conversation with the group, Wright could be seen throwing a punch at a man wearing a black T-shirt before heading back towards his home from the front lawn. The group of attackers then moved forward to beat Wright, and the man in the black T-shirt slammed Wright to the ground in between two vehicles and threw repeated punches at his head as the latter turned motionless on the road.

As another person checked in on an unconscious Wright, the gang came to realize he was not moving. The group was then seen scattering while someone could be heard screaming, "What the f**k" in the background. Two more people checked Wright again and seemingly examined his head before the others walked back to their vehicle and escaped the scene. The attackers then told Wright's younger son, 12, "I'm sorry, call 911," as per the Daily Mail.

Karopchinsky later said that she was at work during the tragic ordeal and came to know about the incident after a neighbor called her manager to inform her about the situation, in an interview with the New York Post. "I came to the phone and she said, 'Chris has been in a fight, he was beaten bad, it was really bad.' I was having kind of a panic attack, I couldn't breathe. I was terrified," she recalled.

Wright was then taken to a hospital, where he underwent emergency brain surgery. "He had severe brain damage. The surgery lasted about three-and-a-half hours. By the time I was taken to him, his severe brain injury had turned into catastrophic brain injury," Karopchinsky shared, adding, "After the surgery, they were doing constant CAT scans and they had stopped some bleeding in the brain, but then they saw he'd had a stroke and had bleeding from the brain stem they couldn't do anything about."

"I went home to talk to the boys. I told them, 'It's very bad.' Teenage boys didn’t really understand what 'very bad' meant," Wright's fiance explained. She also told the publication that Wright was in a state of comatose when his three children went to say goodbye to him in the hospital. "I told the boys we had to go to the hospital. I let the boys go in and talk to him and tell him they loved him. He had no brain function at that point," Karopchinsky expressed. "I just wanted the boys to be able to talk to him, tell him they loved him and that they'd see him later. It was tough. I laid in bed with my fiancee all day on Saturday and I held his hands," she added. Wright eventually succumbed to his injuries, and the medical examiner confirmed that he died due to blunt-force trauma to the head, which occurred when the attackers slammed his head into the pavement.
