Who is Shea Pilkington-Wiley? Mother of woman murdered last year calls Carlee Russell out for lying about kidnapping
HOOVER, ALABAMA: Carlethia "Carlee" Nichole Russell is being called out by the mother of a lady who was killed last year. The woman criticized Carlee for lying about being abducted and for "disrespecting" families who have lost children and are still searching for their missing children.
Shea Pilkington-Wiley, whose daughter Madison Shea Pilkington was discovered dead in her Hoover, Alabama apartment after being attacked, recently posted about Russell's account on Facebook.
'She disrespected every one of our children'
In a Facebook post, Pilkington-Wiley stated, "I love the memes. They are great, But all joking aside, Carlee Russell disrespected every parent that has lost a child. She disrespected every one of our children." She went on to add, "The child you couldn't get in touch with that horrific evening. The unanswered calls that kept going to voicemail. The unanswered texts. The sickening feelings we all felt. Remembering shattering like glass and our souls being ripped from our bodies, She dredged it all up to the surface. For me anyway."
'I'm angry for every parent out there that has lost a child'
She continued, "To find it was all a hoax well … I'm freakin angry! I'm angry for myself. I'm angry for every parent out there that has lost a child," Pilkington-Wiley wrote. "Be present to who and how many your actions will effect. Remember that actions have consequences." She then ended her post sending "love and hugs to all my momma's and daddy's with sons and daughters in heaven."
Pilkington-Wiley and Angela Harris, whose 19-year-old daughter Aniah Blanchard was kidnapped and killed in 2019, joined the search for Russell, 25. The effect of the search on Harris was mentioned by Pilkington-Wiley at a separate press conference. "It breaks my heart for Angela to go out there and have to relive everything," the woman reportedly stated, according to WVTM13.
Pilkington-Wiley also criticized Russell for making her parents worry about whether or not she would be safe. She recounted the time her child went missing and was found beat to death, telling the newspaper, "I was calling, I was texting. Those unanswered messages. All those kind of things that you initially start doing and I'm sure that her parents were doing."
'My client did not see a baby and did not leave the Hoover area'
Emory Anthony, Russell's attorney, read at a press conference, "There was no kidnapping on July 13. My client did not see a baby and did not leave the Hoover area, she did not have an accomplice, she was not in a hotel or was with anyone while she was missing." Russell "addresses her issues and attempts to move forward, understanding that she made a mistake in this matter," the attorney continued, adding, "Carlee, again, asks for your forgiveness and prayers," as per reports.
