TATE, MISSISSIPPI: Another mass shooting incident was reported from a rural Mississippi town where six people have died. As per an official, a ‘series of shootings’ took place on Friday, February 17, and a suspect has been detained. In a statement, Governor Tate Reeves said officials believe the suspect carried the act alone and his motive is still under investigation. "Please pray for the victims of this tragic violence and their families at this time," he said.
The unfortunate killings took place in Arkabutla, Tate County, which is a relatively unincorporated community about 20 miles south of the Mississippi-Tennessee border on the south side of Arkabutla Lake. The victims hailed from four separate locations, including outside a store on Arkabutla Road, inside a home on Bend Road and inside a home on Arkabutla Dam Road, as per WMC.

The officials have identified the suspect in the killings as 52-year-old Richard Dale Crum. Meanwhile, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has been assisting with the investigation. The local TV station also claimed that one of victims was reported with no gunshot wounds.
'He came in with a gun and we all ran and hid'
Authorities arrested the accused after spotting him inside a vehicle on Arkabutla Dam Road, where the crime took place. Crum allegedly shot a man outside the Express Mart on Arkabutla Road at 12.30 pm, with a worker at the shop telling DailyMail.com that she and colleagues 'ran and hid.' “No one in the store was hurt, the man was shot outside. He came in here with a gun and we all ran and hid. I don't know who he was,” the eyewitness added.
