PENSACOLA, FLORIDA: A Florida woman named Rachel DeRise and her boyfriend Christian Ketchup were arrested in the death of Tierra Binion, 25.
Tierra Binion was allegedly beaten and shot outside a bar while she was unconscious. She was shot seven times on Wednesday, August 23, according to Law and Crime.
Who was Tierra Binion?
Binion was a mother of twins who was killed outside Mugs n' Jugs in Pensacola following an argument inside the bar that resulted in her tragic death.
According to Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons, once Binion was outside the bar, 25-year-old Ketchup sucker-punched her and knocked her out.
DeRise then "jumped back on" Binion was lying unconscious and continued to punch her.
The situation turned violent after Ketchup pulled out a gun and fatally shot the victim seven times. Binion was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies.
What was the motive behind killing Tierra Binion?
Talking to the local ABC affiliate WEAR-TV, Simmons spoke about the situation that escalated into the deadly incident.
"Obviously there’s no reason to do that. You could have easily walked away. That’s not a mutually combatant type situation," said Simmons.
According to Florida law, felony battery is committed when someone "actually and intentionally touches or strikes another person against the will of the other."
What are the charges against Rachel DeRise and Christian Ketchup?
The 23-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday on a felony battery charge. Ketchup was taken into custody on Wednesday on a murder charge.
DeRise was released on a $15,000 bond while her boyfriend remains held without bond, as per jail records.
Offering condolences to Binion's family, Mugs n' Jugs took to Facebook to address the tragedy.

"At this time we will not be sharing sensitive information with the public as we are cooperating with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department’s active investigation," read the bar's statement which also announced its closure for the rest of Wednesday.
"We understand that this is a difficult time for the family of Tierra Binion and an immense loss for the Pensacola community," read the post.
"At this time we ask that these individuals refrain from any aggressive action or harassment of our employees. We ask for the patience of the community as we continue to work with local law enforcement on our next steps," the post concluded.
