Search for Gretchen Fleming? Missing WV woman's grandma gives heartbreaking update
VIENNA, WEST VIRGINIA: The heartbroken grandmother of a woman who went missing after a night out has offered an emotional update on her granddaughter's disappearance. Gretchen Fleming's grandmother, Louise Fleming wrote on her Facebook post, “Today at Mountwood Park. 500 people came in 14 degree weather to help search for our granddaughter, Gretchen. There are no adequate words to express our family's heartfelt thanks. The love, prayers, and concern shown by your actions bring joy to our hearts.”
She thanked the community further saying, “We love our state and our wonderful community! I would not live anywhere else. Our Mountaineers are something else! THANK YOU!” Louise also expressed confidence in the police investigation and hopes that they would find her grandchild.

According to the Facebook profile, Gretchen Fleming's grandmother Louise Fleming lives in Vienna, West Virginia. She loves participating in various volunteering activities, painting, reading, and so on. After Gretchen's disappearance, Louise has been continuously providing updates to everyone with the search operations and sharing updates from the authorities.
The recent post comes after Louise requested the community to help with the search operation by writing on her Facebook, “I can't even count how many times I have posted saying why aren't you searching? Well, the time is here, we need your help this Saturday, February 4th meet at the large parking lot next to the floodwall, located down close to WTAP by 9:30 if you are willing to help. WE REALLY NEED A LOT OF VOLUNTEERS. Please help our family find her. This Saturday it will be two months since she disappeared.”
What happened to Gretchen Fleming?
Gretchen Fleming, 28, left Parkersburg's 'My Way Lounge' with an older man on December 4 and has not been seen or heard from since. The man Gretchen was observed leaving with is being investigated after telling officers that Gretchen was in his car that night. The man, Preston Pierce, who is in his 50s, has not been labeled as a formal suspect yet but is at the center of the investigation, according to Eyewitness News.
However, cops have subsequently acquired search warrants for the man's car, home, electronics, and any other homes he may rent or own. He is a former law enforcement officer who has worked within numerous departments in West Virginia, according to Eyewitness News. He is claimed to have had a 12-year law enforcement career that ended with a spell with the Belington Police Department in Barbour County. In Gretchen's case, the person of interest has not been charged with any crime as of now.
