ATLANTA, GEORGIA: The wife of a former college football star has been arrested in The Bahamas for her alleged involvement in a murder plot against her estranged husband. Lindsay Shiver is facing serious accusations from local authorities for conspiring to murder Robert Shiver along with her Bahamian lover, Terrance Bethel, 28, and an alleged hitman named Farron Newbold, 29.
The shocking murder plot against the former Auburn University football player came to light when police were investigating a break-in at a bar. During their investigation, they discovered WhatsApp messages on a suspect's cell phone that discussed the conspiracy to kill Robert, 38. As a result, Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold were arrested and later flown to the Bahamas capital, Nassau, from Guana. The three suspects appeared in court on Friday, July 28, but were not required to enter a plea.

Who is Lindsay Shiver?
Lindsay Shiver is a 36-year-old woman from Thomasville, Georgia, and is a mother of three. She has been arrested in The Bahamas over claims of conspiring to murder her estranged husband. According to a source close to the investigation, the Shiver family owns a home in the Bahamas, where Shiver is accused of having an affair with Bethel. After Robert discovered the relationship, he filed for divorce. The couple was scheduled to appear in Thomas County Superior Court on July 20, where they filed counterclaims against each other, but specific details were not disclosed. Allegedly, Shiver orchestrated a plan to murder her estranged husband with the help of Bethel and Newbold, as per the authorities' statements, according to Daily Mail. The three suspects involved in the case have not entered a plea yet and are scheduled to appear in court again on October 5th.

Who is Robert Shiver?
Robert served as the long snapper for Auburn University from 2006 to 2008 and hails from Thomasville, Georgia. He met his wife during their time at the university, where she was a cheerleader. "So thankful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together and all of the love, laughter, and life we have created ever since! I love you babe. Cheers to many more," Shiver wrote in a 2020 Instagram post alongside a collection of photos, including from their wedding day. The pair have three sons together with the youngest just four years old.
