PORT ORANGE, FLORIDA: On Saturday, August 5, police in Port Orange County detained a man for allegedly exposing himself at a park for children in Volusia County.

Police reported that Lavon Glenn, 49, of Daytona Beach, Florida, was parked in front of a splash park where several families were gathered.

Who is Lavon Glenn?

According to jail records, 49-year-old Lavon Glenn was detained on Saturday for a number of offenses including indecent exposure, evading police at a high speed, and aggravated assault using a deadly weapon, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.

Lavon Glenn resisted arrest after indecent behavior

According to a Facebook post by the Port Orange Police Department, officers were called to Riverwalk Park in Port Orange on Saturday, August 5, due to reports of a man behaving "in a vulgar and indecent manner" by flashing people in the park.

When the police came to the park, they saw Glenn parked right in front of the splash pad area, in front of several families. The Port Orange police claimed that Glenn resisted their attempts to apprehend him. An officer was reportedly pushed over as Glenn fled after a stun gun was used, per the police.



 

Glenn reportedly tried to flee from police after his car broke down at a petrol station, but he was eventually arrested with the help of the South Daytona Police Department despite his continuing resistance to the arresting officials, according to authorities.

Lavon Glenn faces multiple charges

Glenn was detained on a number of offenses, including resisting an officer, exposing his genitals, attacking a police officer, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Along with a cocaine possession accusation, he has also been accused of eluding law enforcement.

Glenn was provided medical attention for injuries he sustained before being held in Volusia County Jail on a $23,500 bond.

Several users online began praising Port Orange officers for their prompt action in arresting Glenn for his crimes. One Facebook user claimed, "Thank you to all officers for keeping are community safe!! God Bless you all and stay safe!!" A second one exclaimed, "Man are we blessed to have a force agile enough to complete such a grueling pursuit. That bond though."

A third person commented, "It was such an honor to work next to these people. Honestly one of the things I miss about Port Orange. Good job! The thing that would have made this better is if the K9 was cut loose." Another user retorted, "Great work. My family goes to the splash pad frequently. We all have to be aware of our surroundings."
