Who is Kyle Rogemoser? US Navy chief arrested for attacking his girlfriend in hotel room after celebrating promotion
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: US Navy chief Kyle Rogemoser was basking in the joy of his recent promotion when he landed himself into a legal predicament due to his own, allegedly violent, behavior.
He faced arrest over accusations of assaulting his girlfriend in their Florida hotel room, where she apparently begged for assistance.
This distressing incident transpired when a compassionate bystander overheard her plea and took action by entering their DoubleTree hotel room in Jacksonville, and promptly called 911.
These details were outlined in an arrest report according to Fox News Digital.
Nightmarish encounter unfolds
During a conversation with responding law enforcement officers on October 7, the bystander who called 911 said they noticed the 36-year-old Rogemoser casually strolling through the hotel lobby and promptly alerted the deputies, identifying Rogemoser as the abuser.
Rogemoser, displaying a noticeable red abrasion on his neck, was apprehended and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery; the arrest took place shortly after midnight.
It's worth noting that Rogemoser appeared extremely intoxicated and repeatedly expressed his inability to comprehend his Miranda rights to a deputy.
On October 6, the couple initially arrived at the hotel around 5 pm, sharing an alcoholic beverage, as stated in the police report. Following this, they marked Rogemoser's Navy chief promotion with a dinner at the hotel, intending to stay overnight.
However, the celebratory atmosphere turned dark when they returned to their hotel room and became embroiled in a heated argument.
According to the affidavit, the victim informed the officer that the suspect punched her in the mouth three times during the altercation.
"She started to call for help, and she heard a knock on the hotel door, and she opened [it]. The witness came in, picked her up, and took her downstairs to management until police were called."
The woman's injuries, which included red marks on her chin and neck and fresh blood on her lower lip, were documented.
Kyle Rogemoser released on bail
Following the events, Rogemoser was held in the Duval County Jail on October 7. However, three days later, a family member posted his $5,003 bail, as verified by court records, leading to his release from custody.
It's important to note that the 35-year-old victim, who shares a residence with Rogemoser, secured a temporary restraining order against him, prohibiting all contact.
Rogemoser's arraignment is scheduled for October 31. Presently, neither he nor a representative from the US Navy has issued any comment regarding the situation.
