Jeremy Froias: Ex-cyber security officer arrested for filming over 150 passengers including 40 children in Royal Caribbean ship bathroom
MIAMI, FLORIDA: A person who was on a Caribbean cruise was taken into custody after a concealed camera containing footage of multiple individuals, including minors, was discovered in a public bathroom, authorities confirmed. Court records show that Jeremy Froias was apprehended in Puerto Rico on Wednesday, May 3, and was reportedly charged with video voyeurism and attempted possession of child exploitation material.
Froias boarded Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas in Miami on April 29 for a seven-day tour that was scheduled to end in the Bahamas, Sint Maarten, Puerto Rico, and then back to Miami on Saturday, May 6. According to officials, Froias allegedly placed a hidden Wi-Fi camera in a public restroom on the top deck of the ship, a day after the voyage began. The restroom was located between a surfing simulator and a bar. One day later, a passenger noticed the camera and informed the ship's crew. It is believed that more than 150 passengers, including 40 children, were allegedly filmed using the bathroom and changing their swimsuits, as reported by Daily Mail.

Police found 'several hours' of footage
According to a criminal complaint, the staff found the hidden camera shortly after a passenger reported it, and an FBI agent noted that it contained "several hours" of mp4 video files. The footage on the memory card shows Froias allegedly installing the camera in the bathroom, adjusting its angle to better capture the toilet. According to court documents, the camera allegedly captured several passengers, including young children, undressing and changing clothes. After being confronted by security personnel, Froias reportedly admitted to installing the camera in the bathroom, as per Daily Mial. Investigators are now working to contact the passengers and identify possible victims.

Jeremy Froias is a former cyber security officer who was employed by the city of Kissimmee in Florida, United States. During his bond hearing on Monday, May 8, he was released to his wife as a third-party custodian and was required to post a $25,000 unsecured bond, according to court records. Additionally, he was ordered to abide by certain conditions, such as refraining from having unsupervised contact with minors, including his own children, and surrendering his passport. He was also prohibited from accessing the internet, among other things.
His attorney, Leo Aldridge, said, "Mr. Froias has not been formally indicted. Therefore, I have no comments at this time." Royal Caribbean said in a statement, "The matter was immediately reported to local and federal law enforcement and the guest involved was removed from the ship by authorities for further investigation. As this is an active case, we are unable to share any more details at this time," as per Daily Mail.
