BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: In a horrific turn of events, 47-year-old Brooklyn man Jason Pass shot and killed his neighbors over a minor noise dispute in their Brooklyn apartment on Sunday night, October 29, 2023.
Pass is reportedly being sought after by the authorities following the brutal shooting that claimed the lives of Bladimy Mathurin, 47, and his stepson Chin Wai Mode, 27.
The New York Post reported that the shooting took place on the fourth floor of a famous East Flatbush housing complex, where Michael K Williams, the late star of 'The Wire', and Barbra Streisand grew up.
Police have identified Pass from CCTV footage that captured the entire horrific shooting.
Jason Pass called 311 repeatedly since March 2022 due to noise from Bladimy Mathurin's flat
Multiple reports state that Pass, who shared an apartment directly below the victims with his elderly mother, was furious about the noise that came from their unit all the time.
According to the NYPD, since March 2022, Pass has contacted 311 several times due to noise from Mathurin, his wife Marie Delille, and her two children, including Chin Wai Mode, who live upstairs.
It was alleged that the issue had caused arguments between the neighbors in the past. But on October 29, their argument turned fatal, after Pass drew a gun and shot the Brooklyn father and son.
Pass worked as a correctional officer at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Westchester until his termination in 2005, according to the New York Daily News.

According to the outlet, Pass was fired the same month he was charged with pointing a gun at two plainclothes police officers during a road rage incident on Flatlands, Brooklyn's Ralph Avenue.
Pass admitted to engaging in disorderly conduct after being accused of menacing and reckless endangerment.
According to the Daily News, the suspect's sister claimed that her brother acted in self-defense.
The sister claimed that the upstairs residents often became aggressive and started arguments when Pass, who lives with his 73-year-old mother, objected to the noise levels.
Pass' sister added: "(They screamed) ‘We’re gonna kill you!’ ‘We hate you!’ on numerous occasions. As we’re walking out and they’re coming in or as they’re getting in their vehicle, those are things they’ve said to us."

What happened between Jason Pass and Bladimy Mathurin?
The victim's apartment was located on the fourth floor of the Flatbush Gardens building at 1418 Brooklyn Avenue.
Pass was seen on security footage in the corridor on the day of the event waiting by the stairs, while Mathurin was observed trying to get dressed by the door.
Mathurin's wife was seen arguing with the suspect shortly after leaving the residence. The victim's child and wife stand back as Mathurin then emerges with what looks to be scissors.
A little while later, the woman is joined by her son, Mode, 27, as identified by the police. It is unclear what was said during the exchange because the footage has no sound.
In the video, Mathurin appears to be threatening Pass with the scissors while his wife tries to dissuade him by drawing him back.
As Marie tries to draw Mathurin out of the scene, the suspect takes out a revolver and shoots Mode and Mathurin, while his wife runs inside the apartment, blocking the door.
After firing additional bullets at Mathurin, who lay bleeding near the door, the suspect was last seen fleeing away from the scene.
Netizens enraged over horrific Brooklyn incident
Many people have taken to social media to express their outrage over the suspect's savagery in the videotaped incident.
One social media user took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the graphic footage, which garnered questions like "Is this self defense?" and "What kind of argument leads to this nonsense?"

Another X user added, "The father had scissors, but was clearly walking away when shot. The boy seemed to be trying to avoid getting shot, not attacking. Executed him. He then executed the father. Murder."
"Not self defense, since he had all the time in the world to vacate that area," asserted another.
Someone else said, "That was an execution. This guy needs to go straight to death row," while another noted, "That’s called Murder."
A user stated, "This wasn't self defense. It was a double execution. Both men initially shot in the back. Both shot again after they ceased being a threat. Jail time ahead."
