NYE COUNTY, NEVADA: Gennice Walker from Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of a 95-year-old man named Bruce Brown from Nevada, is accused of living off her father's social security.

The shocking discovery was made by Nevada police who were looking for the missing 95-year-old man. He was found buried in the backyard in a homemade coffin.

Where was Bruce Brown's body found?

The police found his body in a makeshift coffin buried in his own backyard, according to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office.

The old man, Bruce Brown, had been out of contact since April. His daughter, Gennice Walker, allegedly stole his social security and VA benefits.

She told someone she had disposed of his body in the desert, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Walker was tracked down in Kansas City, Missouri, but she did not cooperate with the detectives.

"Investigators had already established probable cause that Walker was living off of Brown's social security and VA benefits and had received information that she had buried Brown, her father, in the desert," Nye County Sheriff's Office said in the press release.

Walker refused to cooperate and was arrested on a larceny charge for the benefit fraud.

Has Gennice Walker been charged?

Walker has not been charged yet for her father’s death or burial.

The detectives searched Brown’s home in Pahrump, a desert town near the California border and 60 miles from Las Vegas.

They excavated a small area of the yard and uncovered Brown’s remains. He was identified after an autopsy.

The cause and manner of his death were not revealed, the Law & Crime reported.

Brown and Walker owned the home together, according to Nye County property records cited by the outlet.

The home is located in a sparse desert landscape with mountains in the distance, close to Death Valley.

How are people reacting to Gennice Walker's arrest?

People who knew Brown commented on the Facebook post by sheriff's office to remember him as a kind person.

"Bruce was one of the kindest sweetest person on this planet, " a user Albert Tarragano wrote on Facebook.

"I know God said to him well done. Good and faithful son rest in peace my dear friend and say hello to my mother when you see her and give Geneva a hug for me."

Walker remains in Kansas City pending her extradition back to Nye County.
