BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: Denise Amy Law, 37, allegedly killed a 66-year-old woman by beating her to death with a metal walker. The deceased elderly was allegedly trying to steal her boyfriend, which set Denise on this path.
Authorities have stated that the accused has been taken into custody on November 2. She has been charged with one count of first-degree murder.
Officials responded to a call about a female being the victim of a physical assault at 3532 Riverway Drive. The victim, Melinda Reed, 66, was found suffering from multiple injuries to her head and face, according to information revealed by the Baton Rouge Police Department in a news release.

Denise was arrested for the murder of Reed on the same day and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. She is currently being detained without bond.
A Baton Rogue daily newspaper, The Advocate, obtained an affidavit of probable cause, which detailed the alleged altercation between Denise and Reed.
The two women reportedly got into an argument late afternoon in a house on Riverway Drive. Witnesses told investigators that the dispute stemmed from Denise accusing Reed of pursuing a relationship with her boyfriend.
How did Denise Amy Law allegedly end up killing Melinda Reed?
As the quarrel between Denise and Reed raged on, the two moved out of the house and onto the driveway, where the situation escalated to a physical confrontation. Denise has been accused of grabbing Reed's metallic walker during the fight and using it to bash Reed multiple times, especially in the head.
Authorities stated that Denise continued hitting Reed as she fell to the ground and bystanders had to pull her away from the 66-year-old in order to stop her.
She also threw Reed's cell phone into a storm drain. Firefighters later recovered the phone, as reported by The Advocate.
