LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Coye Simmons, a contestant on Season 6 of 'Love Island USA', stands out not just for his reality TV presence but also for his unique background. He is the son of the iconic 1990s female rapper Shocky Shay.

Coye's journey into the limelight began on the basketball court, where he excelled enough to earn a college scholarship and even play professionally in Germany.

Despite his success in basketball, Coye's lineage adds a fascinating dimension to his story. Shocky Shay, also known as Charlene Simmons, made her mark in the hip-hop scene during the late '80s and early '90s. Signed to Orpheus Records, Shocky Shay released her debut single 'Pass the Salt & Pepper' in 1988. Although it’s unclear how the single performed on the charts, it paved the way for her debut album, 'No Joke', in 1989.

The album achieved modest success, peaking at #70 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart. Her follow-up single, "Your Man’s Alright," did not chart, which led to a quieter period in her career. After a significant hiatus, Shocky Shay resurfaced in 2011 with the single "Deadbeat Dads," released through CD Baby.

Today, she remains active in the music industry and continues to record music. Now based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Shocky Shay's legacy lives on through her contributions to hip-hop and her son, Coye Simmons, a standout contestant on Love Island USA.

While not much is known about Shocky Shay's later career, her influence in the music industry is undeniable. Her son Coye, now a School District Unit Director, carries on her legacy while making his mark on reality television. With his stunning looks and iconic family background, Coye Simmons is sure to win hearts after his stint on Love Island USA Season 6.

Coye Simmons is the tallest contestant of 'Love Island USA' Season 6

Standing at an impressive height of 6’8", Coye Simmons is undeniably one of the tallest contestants of 'Love Island USA'. His tall stature immediately sets him apart from the crowd, commanding attention wherever he goes.

However, at 6’8”, Coye navigates daily life with unique challenges, from trouble finding clothes and shoes that fit him to maneuvering through spaces designed for individuals of average height. Hence, custom-made clothing and shoes are a necessity for Coye, as his size 17 feet and long limbs make off-the-rack options impractical.
