BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA: Analiz Osceola, 32, will serve the next several decades behind bars after beating her 3-year-old stepson to death in 2015.

Analiz pretended not to know her stepson Ahziya Osceola's whereabouts when reporting that the young child was missing on the morning of March 19, 2015.

Jurors in Broward County found her guilty in March 2023 of aggravated manslaughter of a child.

On October 26, Analiz was given a 30-year prison sentence.

On Monday, November 6, 2023, she was admitted to the Florida prison system.

Her release date is June 25, 2050, and she was given credit for 1,211 days of service.

What did Analiz Osceola do?

In a 2015 case that rocked the Hollywood neighborhood, a Broward County jury found Analiz guilty of aggravated manslaughter in connection with the death of her 3-year-old stepson.

According to the prosecution, Analiz killed young Ahziya by abusing him and lying to the police.

According to records obtained by Law & Crime, she claimed to have woken up to discover the boy missing. She claimed that the kitchen counter had more than $3,000 in cash missing and that the rear door had been left open.

Detectives discovered Ahziya's body which had been placed in a box in the laundry room, with a battered and bruised body, in the Hollywood house on March 22, 2015, after he was reported missing.

Analiz claimed that Ahziya fractured his foot a few weeks before while jumping off the barbecue on the backyard patio. She said she had taken him to the hospital.

Documents, however, state that the workers there claimed not to have a record of this.

Officers from the Seminole Tribe, Hollywood Police, and the Broward Sheriff's Office participated in the two-day search.

Investigators said that Analiz gave them conflicting accounts of events leading up to the child's death and disappearance.

Analiz admitted that she had hidden the body and knew exactly where he was throughout the investigation.

No money was taken or lost. She left it unlocked, knowing that the door would open on its own.

Nelson Osceola, the father of the child, gave a testimony earlier this week in court. He asserted that he was unaware of the boy's abuse before his death, as per NBC Miami.

How did Analiz Osceola torture 3-year-old Ahziya?

The child's body was covered in wounds, according to the medical examiner.

Ahziya's head, face, arms, and legs were all covered with bruises. His neck was also covered in many gouge marks.

He sustained a spiral fracture to his tibia in his left leg. A sizable gaping wound covered his shin and the top of his foot. Authorities claimed he might have been in excruciating pain and unable to walk.

The cause of death, according to the medical examiner, was blunt-force abdominal trauma. Ahizya suffered a laceration to his liver and a shattered pancreas.

Analiz claimed in the records that she woke up to find Ahziya cold and that, despite her best efforts to save him alive, she had found out he was dead.

Authorities said Analiz claimed to have placed the boy in a box and covered him with a clear plastic bag. After hiding him for two days with garments stuffed inside, she called the police.

According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, the state knew that Ahziya had been abused and neglected before he disappeared.

He was no longer under the custody of his biological mother Karen Cypress Delgado, as reported by Local 10.
