WICHITA, KANSAS: Alexander Lewis, a Wichita resident and Zaiylah Bronson's boyfriend, googled phrases like "choke hold" and "weapons that can kill" before murdering his pregnant girlfriend and hiding her body in the back of his car, per Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old conducted online searches over a two-day period for information on abortion, stun guns, lethal weapons, and murder, according to a probable cause document made public by a Sedgwick County judge.

Alexander Lewis' disturbing Google searches

The times of the inquiries correspond to Zaiylah Quayunna Bronson's death on August 26. She was 19 years old, had been dating Lewis since January, and was expecting a boy.

When he conducted some of the searches, Lewis seemed to be with Bronson at her apartment.

On CCTV footage from the evening of August 25, the man was seen parking his automobile in front of Bronson's apartment. He made inquiries regarding lethal weapons, stun guns, and "weapons that can kill" the same evening.

Timeline of Alexander Lewis' searches and crime

Lewis looked up "choke hold" on the internet at 8.02 am, "snapping necks" at 8.51 and 8.52 am, and "murder" a number of times between 10.57 and 11.06 am.

He conducted numerous searches on abortion, which is illegal in Kentucky after over 21 weeks. Bronson was around 16 weeks pregnant.

Lewis left Bronson's apartment at 10.15 am to position his car closer to the entrance.

Before going back inside, he opened the trunk and took out a black rucksack that was filled with duct tape, water bottles, clothes, flashlights, towels, and garbage bags.

Lewis was seen loading a wrapped blanket into the trunk of the automobile at 10.24 am, with the feet hanging out the bottom. He emerged three minutes later with the dog and a rucksack before driving away.

At 10.42 am, Lewis returned to the flat for the final time. An operator in North Carolina called 911 dispatch around 20 minutes later to report a suspected homicide in the Wichita region.

How was Alexander Lewis arrested?

Police used a location ping on Lewis' cellphone to trace him down to his residence. They knocked on his door and arrested him when he opened it.

Lewis quickly admitted to having the teenager's body in his trunk.

"I got scared. I was over at her place; I didn’t know what to do," he stated, as per the affidavit.

He told officers that Bronson had broken up with him earlier that day, on August 25, after a fight.
