How did the police arrest Danny Serafini?
Spohr and Wood were shot in their home in North Lake Tahoe. The 70-year-old man succumbed to his gunshot injuries while the 68-year-old woman died a year later after she recovered from her injuries.
Investigators then reviewed a home surveillance video footage and spotted a "hooded male wearing a face-covering and a backpack walking to the residence several hours before the homicide occurred."
"Since then, PCSO detectives have worked tirelessly over the course of the past two years, devoting countless hours of follow-up by detectives, along with the DA’s Office," according to the sheriff's office's statement.

"The information and evidence detectives gathered led them to identify Serafini and Scott as the suspects; both suspects are known to each other and to the victims."
Adrienne Spohr remembers her father who was the 'emotional backbone' of her family
Remembering her father who was brutally shot to death, Adrienne said he was the "emotional backbone of our family."
"He loved the water and spent many summer days cruising the shores of Lake Tahoe with friends and family on his boat," she wrote.
Speaking to NBC, Adrienne said she felt an "immense weight lifted off my shoulders" after Serafini and Scott's arrest
However, Adrienne declined to state anything about her sister's possible involvement in the case.
It remains unclear whether Serafini and Scott who are currently awaiting extradition to California from Nevada have retained an attorney.
Sgt David Smith confirmed that Serafini is the son-in-law of Spohr and Wood.
Once the former professional baseball pitcher and Scott are back on the Californian soil, they are expected to face serious charges, including murder and attempted murder in connection to the 2021 shooting.
