When it became known that his family was asking Spanish police to look into a possible drowning in Barcelona's port, the Somali mafia debt claims came to light in Spain. According to Daily Mail, Davis' passport was later found nearby, raising concerns about whether he had been duped into agreeing to meet someone he had met online in order to fall for a trap.
