On August 3, police received a call to respond to a shooting that happened near the intersection of Athel Avenue and Sego Street in Irvine. The shooting happened just after 12.30 pm. The people who called the police at 911, said they heard a man screaming for help, per KTLA 5.

Browndorf and Farmer reportedly fled the scene before the police arrived. Cops later determined that it involved a car-to-car shooting im which two cars, a black Mercedes and a white Honda Civic, were present. Witnesses told the police that Neaimi-Pour entered the passenger side of the Mercedes that pulled alongside the east curb of Athel Avenue. A while after, the white Honda Civic pulled up next and the male passenger of the Honda Civic gout out of the car. He then fired at the victim multiple times. After coming out of the car, Neaimi-Pour then collapsed on the street.
As per KTLA 5, when authorities started investigating, they found out that the shooters lived near the scene, near Kensington Park and Saint James. After obtaining a search warrant, the police deployed the SWAT team and arrested Browndorf and Farmer. The events leading to the homicide are still under investigation.
What did the police say?
Irvine Police reportedly said, “Things like this don’t usually happen in residential neighborhoods, specifically in Irvine, in broad daylight with people home and walking about. For whatever reason, it seems the victim was targeted. Our investigation will continue until we figure this out. The victim lives in South County, so there is no indication why they would be in this area.”
