Who are Fraser Bohm's parents? Malibu driver accused of vehicular manslaughter was gifted his red BMW on 18th birthday
MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: The 22-year-old Fraser Bohm, who stands accused of killing four Pepperdine University students in Malibu, California, on the night of October 16, was operating the 2016 BMW that his parents had gifted him on his 18th birthday.
According to the information obtained by Daily Mail, the car that killed the four seniors was bought by Bohm's mother Brooke, 57, in 2017 with a $25,000 down payment while his father Chris, 59, paid the remaining installments.
Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams were identified as the victims of the collision. They were all killed on the spot in a region known locally as "Dead Man's Curve" on the Pacific Coast Highway in California.
BMW was gifted to Fraser Bohm as couple's 2018 divorce settlement
As per Daily Mail, the car was given to Bohm for his 18th birthday, per a settlement that was part of the couple's 2018 divorce.
Bohm is one of three siblings. Along with their mother, who is a photographer, his sisters Hunter, 25, and Haiden, 24, also live in the same house as him.
Bohm's father Chris works as the Vice President of Sales West for ReCor Medical, a Palo Alto-based manufacturer of medical equipment.
While Brooke does possess a photography company, the settlement reveals that at the time it was barely profitable, with her primary sources of income being social security disability checks and a monthly award of more than $6,000 in spousal support.
Hunter currently studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing in Los Angeles to pursue a degree in fashion design, as per her LinkedIn profile.
Meanwhile, Haiden attended Berkeley before enrolling in a sociology course at the University of Southern California and works as a freelance digital marketing manager.
Fraser Bohm was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter with recklessness and was taken into custody at the scene of the incident on October 17 night. However, he was released early on October 18 morning in Lost Hills.
Fraser Bohm had lavish lifestyle thanks to his parents
The settlement also provides insight into the opulent lifestyle of Bohm's family, including the exclusive gated "estate" in Malibu that Bohm's mother, Brooke, was awarded as part of their divorce.
The price of the property was lowered to $8,795,000 in less than a week after it was listed for sale in late September for $9,750,000.
Realtors emphasized the expansive ocean views from the full-length deck, where "you can relax on comfortable couches while enjoying sunrises, sunsets, dolphins playing and views of Dume, Catalina, the South Bay and the beautiful Queen's Necklace stretching to Palos Verdes," as well as the house's "hip, beach chic vibe."
Bohm continues to reside at the home, which is described in the ad as being in a "celebrity enclave" and featuring terraced gardens and a custom chef's kitchen.
The listing continues, saying, "This private estate boasts terraced gardens ideal for relaxation and expansive patios for dining and entertaining. Imagine hosting your next dinner party under the stars with the stunning coastline as your backdrop."
"The property is the perfect romantic getaway that will make you feel like you are on vacation every day."
The family also owns a second house in Palm Desert, a celebrity hotspot where former President Barack Obama has taken golf trips, per the divorce filings.
Situated within the prestigious Monterey Country Club, this $700,000 three-bedroom condo boasts views of the mountains and backs straight onto the golf course.
Brooke's parents had resided at the condo before their deaths.
Despite their opulent lifestyle, the settlement reveals that the family had debt totaling more than $80,000, plus credit card debt.
