PHEONIX, ARIZONA: As the search for a father and son who vanished in the Phoenix area in July 2023 continued, authorities in Arizona found two dead bodies along with one of the missing persons.
According to an update released by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office on Thursday, Chad Holvig's 25-year-old son Dalton was discovered with gunshot wounds in a rental home in a Phoenix suburb about 18 miles from the state's capital.
Detectives also discovered two dead bodies while searching the area of the property.
Two additional people were detained on unrelated charges in the house at the time of the bodies' discovery.
'The investigation is in an aggressive and fluid state'
Authorities made no mention of the subjects' names or the charges they are expected to face. Chad, who wasn't present at the house during the search, is still wanted by the police.
Authorities stated that more information would be released and that "the investigation is in an aggressive and fluid state," as reported by FOX10.

According to authorities, Chad had yet to speak to his family since July 6, which was unusual behavior.
Chad was last seen driving a 1999 black Dodge Durango. Authorities claimed that he had abandoned his dogs and all of his possessions.
According to the sheriff's office, he was last seen wearing blue jeans, brown steel hiking boots, a navy shirt with a yellow logo on the front, a black hat, and a black backpack.
Dalton vanished without a trace
Two house residents were detained on suspicion of crimes unrelated to the discovered human remains, as per Enriquez. Dalton vanished without a trace on July 10, 2023. He previously had a leg injury, according to authorities.
On Thursday, no new information was disclosed. Chad is yet to be found. What brought the detectives to that house, when the search warrant was carried out, and how these discoveries came to be are all unknown.
