The Hulu series' idea looks incredibly fascinating. So which book is ‘Saint X’ based on? Let's check.

Which book is ‘Saint X' based on?

The upcoming mystery thriller series is based on a book of the same name, written by the American short story writer Alexis Schaitkin. The book was published in 2020 and garnered universal acclaim and also became a bestseller.

In the book version of 'Saint X,' the plot commences with the disappearance of a young American girl named Alison Thomas while she is on vacation with her family on the fictitious Caribbean island of Saint X. In addition to Claire, Alison's sister, there are two men who happen to be the last known individuals to have seen Alison alive. The story shifts between different character POVs and their particular take on the events that unfolded. Secrets are exposed as the inquiry progresses, and the individuals are compelled to face their own histories as well as the effects of Alison's disappearance on their lives. The book looks at issues of privilege, racism, and the complex tangle of loss and mourning.
