NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'Young Woman and the Sea' is releasing in theatres on May 31, 2024. The movie follows the incredible true story of  Gertrude Ederle aka Trudy Ederle (Daisy Ridley) who was an Olympic gold medalist and became the first woman ever to cross the English Channel.

The film is directed by Joachim Rønning and is based on a 2009 book of the same name by Glenn Stout. It stars Daisy Ridley, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Stephen Graham, Kim Bodnia, and Christopher Eccleston in important roles. 

The film's story spans North America and Europe as it tells the story of an American girl crossing the English Channel. The makers have shot in some of the iconic cities on both continents.

Kavarna, Bulgaria

Kavarna is a Black Sea coastal town on the north-eastern border of Bulgaria. It lies in the Dobruja region and shares its border with Romania. The town is rich in its cultural history which dates back to 5th Century AD. 

Since the early 2000s, the town has gained a reputation for being famous for its rock and roll culture with popular bands from across the world in the Kavarna Rock Fest. In 2005, the popular band Deep Purple performed in the town. 

The Dobruja and the Sea Display, Town Museum, and Ethnographic Museum are the popular tourist attractions in the town. 

Paris, France

A portion of the film is shot in Paris, France. The city is known for being one of the most sought-after filming locations in the world with the iconic Eiffel Tower adding to their frames in the background. 

The city is full of history and architecture and its modern infrastructure and picturesque cafes add to its beauty and also provide the perfect locations for filmmaking. The city has a great culture of films and art and is very friendly to everyone who wants to shoot in Paris.
