Where was 'Heated Rivalry' filmed? Inside the stunning locations behind HBO's steamy sports romance

HBO's new series, 'Heated Rivalry', follows two rival hockey players who end up falling in love

HBO just dropped a new show, 'Heated Rivalry', and the steamy hockey romance series has caught the attention of viewers. For the unversed, 'Heated Rivalry' is a series created by Jacob Tierney, and based on the 'Game Changers' novel series by Rachel Reid. The show revolves around two rival professional hockey players, Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), whose on-field animosity leads to a secret romance. The show has been filmed at some beautiful locations in and around Toronto and Montreal, as per a Cosmopolitan report. 

It seems like most of the ice-skating scenes of the show were filmed at the Sleeman Center in Guelph, Ontario. The show also reportedly filmed Ilya's jogging sequence around Dundurn Castle in Hamilton. Another filming location spotted by the Reddit investigators was the McMaster Burridge Gym in Hamilton, which was used as the outdoor spot for Shane and Ilya's very first encounter. The show also features some picturesque landscapes from Canada. 

Currently, numerous Redditors are busy figuring out the specific locations where 'Heated Rivalry' was filmed. One Reddit user wrote, "I'll try to identify as many of the Toronto shots as possible. I already identified the Tampa hotel pool as Lavelle on King West." A second user claimed, "The very first shot where Shane introduces himself is out front of the McMaster Burridge Gym in Hamilton. The party in LA for the Major League Draft is First Ontario Concert Hall in Hamilton." "The inside on ice arena for E01 Prospect Cup is the Sleeman Centre in Guelph, Ontario. The outside opening shot is likely not at the same location as I can't find those six set of doors on Google street view, and I'm too lazy to drive there to check," a third user shared. 

In case you're wondering, 'Heated Rivalry' premiered on November 28, 2025, with two episodes. The highly anticipated third episode of the show will be airing on December 5. Meanwhile, the fourth episode, which has been titled 'Rose', will drop on December 12. Speaking of the fifth episode titled 'I'll Believe in Anything', it will be released on December 19, and the last episode, named 'The Cottage', will debut on December 26.
