The Missing Mark Remley: Tatyana Remley's husband 'vanishes' after being rushed to hospital
DEL MAR, CALIFORNIA: Mark Remley, the estranged husband of equestrian sensation Tatyana Remley, reportedly found himself in a dire situation just before the explosive revelation of a murder-for-hire plan. Now, his whereabouts are unknown.
Last week, Mark Remley, 57, made a dramatic entrance at their former $5.3 million mansion in upscale Del Mar, Southern California. Witnesses recount that Mark, arriving in his black Ferrari supercar, seemed highly distressed and physically unwell.
"He was highly agitated and looked absolutely terrible, like he might have been detoxing from something," a source told the Daily Mail.
"He said he thought he was having a seizure so the neighbor immediately rang 911. He was taken away in an ambulance to the hospital. The Ferrari was left there," the source added.
"Three days later two of his friends arrived, took the car away, and put chains on the gates of the house. Forget him being 57, apparently, the guy looked more like 77," the source added.
The details of Mark's condition after being hospitalized remain unknown, adding to the mysterious circumstances surrounding this case.
Tatyana Remley's murder-for-hire plot
Adding to the intrigue, the mansion itself had become uninhabitable following a fire on July 2, per the Daily Mail. Mark claims that Tatyana, his estranged wife, was responsible for setting the fire, further deepening the rift between the couple.
The dramatic events that unfolded on August 28 came to light shortly before Tatyana Remley, 42, was arrested on August 2 following a police sting operation at a local Starbucks.
In a shocking twist, Tatyana was accused of attempting to hire a hitman to eliminate her husband Mark for a staggering $2 million. This sinister plot came to light against the backdrop of an acrimonious divorce battle, in which Tatyana claimed that Mark had cut off her financial support.
"Wife is experiencing extreme financial strain. She is unable to maintain her realistic monthly expenses of just $12,000, much less (than) what she was accustomed to at $50,000," Tatyana's attorney Tiffany Brown wrote to the court.
"She has no income and does not have the same access to fund and assets that Respondent does," Brown added.
Tatyana and Mark Remley's tumultuous marriage
Tatyana and Mark Remley's tumultuous marriage, which began in 2011 and included their failed multi-million dollar 'equine-human acrobatics show' called 'Valitar' in 2012, is well-documented in their divorce papers filed in July.
Tatyana alleges Mark's history of physical abuse, including disturbing incidents such as him holding a gun to her head and pursuing her with a knife. Additionally, she accuses Mark of being present during a sexual assault she endured at the hands of one of his friends.
Adding another layer of complexity to their tumultuous relationship, it has come to light that five years ago, Tatyana, in a state of extreme distress, fled their home late at night, naked, and sought help from a neighbor. This incident, while shrouded in mystery, paints a vivid picture of the turmoil in their union.
Mark Remley has a history of failed relationships. He had previously been married and divorced, with his first marriage ending in chaos due to an affair with the family nanny. This affair led to confrontations and even legal troubles, including an assault conviction for his first wife Elizabeth Joy Remley.
Mark, reportedly inheriting $26 million from his parents, later moved into the Del Mar property with Tatyana. The couple exhibited extravagant tastes, owning luxury vehicles and a property still registered in the name of Mark's late mother Elizabeth.
Their desire for privacy was evident from the foreboding sign on their front gates which read, "Never mind the dog, beware of the owner." The sign featured a graphic of a hand holding a revolver.
This sign did little to deter law enforcement when a San Diego Sheriff's Department SWAT team descended on the property on August 2. The SWAT team's presence highlighted the gravity of the situation.
What are the charges against Tatyana Remley?
Tatyana's arrest remains shrouded in mystery as the sheriff's department has not disclosed how they uncovered the alleged murder plot. However, it is believed that Tatyana had approached a friend about the plan, leading to law enforcement intervention.
Tatyana faces serious charges, including solicitation of murder and weapons-related offenses. Her plans allegedly involved a cash down payment and detailed instructions on how she wanted her husband killed and his body disposed of.
Despite her plea of not guilty during her arraignment, a judge denied her bail request, leaving her in jail custody.
It's also worth noting that Tatyana was previously arrested at the scene of the house fire a month earlier, where she was found in possession of firearms and ammunition. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Remleys, notorious for their ill-fated equestrian extravaganza in 2012, have seen their fair share of turmoil, with debts, angry suppliers, and team members left in the wake of their ambitious yet unsuccessful venture, per the Daily Mail.
