This story contains spoilers for 'Tracker' Season 3 Episode 15.

'Tracker' fans have dire news headed their way. Season 3 of the CBS action drama returned in early March, with more of Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) and the cases he's working on while waging an internal battle. While the work is underway for Season 4, the network has set the finale date for the ongoing season. The finale of 'Tracker' Season 3 is set for Sunday, May 24 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. The confirmation comes alongside CBS setting finale dates for other returning shows in its programming calendar, including the 'NCIS' franchise, 'Ghosts', and 'Matlock'.

With 22 episodes, 'Tracker' has officially proved to be a hit with the audience, giving the series' think tank the opportunity to add more depth to Shaw's character. Earlier, the network made a string of casting moves by making Chris Lee a regular on the show. With his character, Randy, now a full-timer, there will be more to expect from the expert hacker as Randy becomes central to the series storyline. A classic example is the latest episode, 'No Good Deed,' which saw Colter help Randy locate his best friend, who was missing while on house arrest. This ensures that the extended season focuses more on chemistry between the stars. Additionally, the extension builds on what Hartley teased about the show exploring Shaw's evolution and answering his complicated family arc.

"More towards the end of Season 3, I would say, we get a lot of those answers," Hartley told Deadline, when asked if the third season would dig into Shaw's backstory. "I don’t know if it’s a complete resolve, like ‘Everything’s okay, and now I feel better,’ but it’s information that he needed for him to move on with his life and go about his business and put that to bed, or at least be at peace with the details, knowing that he has the details, because for so long, he just didn’t have the details."

At the time of writing, there is not a lot to say about Season 4. There is no official confirmed release date or window, leading to speculation that a new season might drop sometime between the fall window next year. For now, the third installment has plenty of ground to cover with seven episodes remaining and set up another solid season. 'Tracker' Season 3 airs Sundays weekly at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
