‘Perfect Match’ Season 4 trailer teases major twist as familiar faces shake things up
The beach is about to get crowded again, and if the latest trailer is anything to go by, the next chapter of ‘Perfect Match’ is not playing it safe. Season 4 is stepping in with familiar faces from other hit reality shows, and a promise that the rules fans thought they understood are about to be flipped upside down. Right from the start, the teaser wastes no time shaking things up. Host Nick Lachey appears on screen with a line that sets the tone for what’s coming. He states, “You thought you knew the game? Well, we’re changing everything.” Then comes the first glimpse of the contestants. Jimmy Presnell from ‘Love Is Blind’ is in the lineup, joined by Yamen Sanders, who fans may remember from ‘Love Island USA’. There’s also Chris Dahlan, whose involvement had been teased earlier, and Ally Lewber from ‘Vanderpump Rules’.
But the trailer doesn’t just introduce the cast; it also brings drama, and one moment in particular stands out. DeMari Davis (‘Too Hot to Handle’) is seen reacting in real time as someone unexpected walks in. That someone? Brianna Balram, also from ‘Too Hot to Handle’, who, as he quickly points out, happens to be his ex. His reaction is unfiltered, and it’s the kind of twist that fans of reality shows love. Things rarely end well when old partners appear on a dating competition, and this relationship already looks like it could spiral fast. Elsewhere in the teaser, a few possible pairings start to take shape, though nothing seems locked in just yet. There are hints of connections forming between contestants, including Alison and Nick, Mackenzie and Chris, and Ally and Jimmy Presnell, among others.
Whether those bonds actually last or fall apart within days remains to be seen. The schedule of the season is also getting a bit of a rollout twist. Instead of dropping everything at once, Netflix is spacing things out. The first five episodes will air on May 13, followed by two more on May 20, and the final episode on May 27. For those keeping track, the cast reveal actually started earlier. During the reunion special of ‘Age of Attraction’ Season 1, Chris Dahlan casually became the first confirmed name attached to Season 4. Not long after, the full list dropped, and it’s a packed lineup.
Along with the already mentioned names, the season includes Alison Ogden from ‘Building the Band’, Katherine LaPrell and Kayla Richart from ‘Too Hot to Handle’, Danny Spongberg, Hashim Moore, and Natalie Cruz from ‘Temptation Island’, and Dave Hand from ‘Married at First Sight Australia’. Season 4 will also feature Mackenzie Bellows from ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’, Marissa George and Sophie Willett from different versions of ‘Love Is Blind’, and Nick Pellecchia from ‘Million Dollar Secret’. Rounding out the cast are Jimmy Sotos from the Ohio State basketball team, and Kassy Castillo and Weston Richey from ‘Love Island USA’.
