Nancy Meyers' latest feature finally has a landing spot and a new release date. After at least two years of negotiations, the untitled movie is now under Warner Bros as its home. Slated to release on December 25, 2027, the film features a slew of big hitters in Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Emma Mackey, and Owen Wilson. The comedy will be directed by Meyers.

According to THR, Meyers' film was previously attached to Netflix, but the deal was off the table in 2023 due to budgetary concerns. Her initial budget was $150 million, but the streamer was not keen on going past $130 million. During that time, Michael Fassbender and Scarlett Johansson were linked to the project alongside Cruz and Wilson. The movie was tentatively titled, 'Paris Paramount' though the nature of the title — working or actual was unclear.

The plot centered around a budding young writer-director falling head over heels in love with a producer. The duo made several successful films before breaking up, but were later forced to work together again for a major project. At the time of writing, there is no official word on whether the plotline has remained the same. The current version is under wraps, with the outlet adding that insiders believe the previous versions were incorrect as well.

Previously, Meyers had taken to Instagram to announce the film. "I’ve been to Paris, France, and I’ve been to Paris, Paramount, and frankly, I prefer Paris, Paramount," she wrote. "There’s been a lot written about my new film. Here’s one thing I can easily clear up — and that’s the title — PARIS PARAMOUNT. It’s from a quote by the brilliant and elegant comedy director (dare I say creator of the romantic comedy), Ernst Lubitsch. The movie is about a group of people making a film and the magic and mystery of what we do. As always, Lubitsch said it best." Meyers' last directed 2015's 'The Intern' starring Robert DeNiro interning for Anne Hathaway.

In related news, Meyers also shared a wholesome tribute to Diane Keaton after the latter's death. "As a movie lover, I’m with you all – we have lost a giant,” she wrote. "A brilliant actress who time and again laid herself bare to tell our stories. As a woman, I lost a friend of almost 40 years – at times, over those years, she felt like a sister because we shared so many truly memorable experiences. As a filmmaker, I’ve lost a connection with an actress that one can only dream of."
