Notably, she confronted her mother June who was managing her account. In a trailer of Season 7, Honey Boo Boo's sister and legal guardian, Pumpkin, lashed out at June and said, "You took her f****** money." Honey Boo Boo tearfully told her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, "If I don’t decide, my scholarship money is basically up." Meanwhile, Pumpkin told Dralin that she won't let him "f*** up Alana's life." Fans would also see Chickadee's wedding to Eldridge, which took place only one month after her cancer diagnosis and nine months before her death.

Pumpkin and Honey Boo Boo haven’t spoken to their mother June since they went up against each other in court for Honey Boo Boo's custody. However, June took every possible step to mend her relationship with her daughters ahead of her beach wedding to Justin. In the process of restoring their relationship, Pumpkin and June had to go through a lot even though they had an explosive argument.
Pumpkin, Honey Boo Boo, and June also went for therapy together to work through their issues, but not everything went smoothly as the star broke down in tears. Pumpkin stated that "actions speak louder than words" while Honey Boo Boo added "she’s disappointed" her so much. But as everyone cried out their feelings, June and Honey Boo Boo shared an emotional hug for the first time in over five or six years. June's daughters then happily attended their mother's wedding to Justin. Pumpkin even gave an emotional speech dedicated to June the night before her wedding.
