Priyanka Chopra Jonas shows her protective and savage-killer side in the latest trailer of 'The Bluff'. The Prime Video film, also starring 'The Boys' star Karl Urban in a starring role, wastes no time in showcasing Chopra Jonas as a mean and brutal wrecking ball in the opening seconds.

Set in the Caribbean in the 1800s, the story follows the character Ercell Bodden, a former pirate trying to lead a peaceful life in the Cayman Islands. Her past catches upto her, forcing Bodden to confront it in the bloodiest way possible. The high-seas actioner is set for a February release.

The logline reads, "Ercell 'Bloody Mary' Bodden thought she had escaped her violent past as a pirate, finding peace in the Cayman Islands with her loving husband, T.H., their son, Isaac, and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth. But when her notorious former captain, Connor, arrives seeking revenge, Ercell’s world is torn apart."

"Forced to confront the demons she’s tried to bury, Ercell is thrust back into a deadly game of secrets and survival. Armed with lethal swordsmanship, cunning traps, and a fierce will to protect those she loves, she wages a brutal war against Connor’s merciless crew. Ercell’s fight to save her family becomes a journey of redemption, as she reclaims her power and embraces the warrior she once was."

Earlier, she teased the movie in an interview with AP. "It's my first as a producer here, which is very exciting," Chopra Jonas said. "I get to play a part which is not very common for women, which is a female pirate. So many of them existed in the 1800s. We’re going with a rated ‘ARR’, it’s going to be a bloody movie, and it’s going to be fun."

Speaking to Vogue India, she shed light on the taxing schedule. "I’d been filming for The Bluff since May, and I was working six days a week. If we weren’t shooting nights, I would wake up most days between 4:30 and 5 am. I worked 12 hours, came home, ate dinner, played with my daughter, caught up with my mom or other work, went to sleep, then woke up the next day and did it all over again."

'The Bluff' stars Chopra Jonas, Safia Oakley-Green, Temuera Morrison, with Ismael Cruz Cordova and Karl Urban. The pirate feature is directed by the Russo Brothers and is executive produced by Joe Ballarini, Frank E. Flowers, Kassee Whiting, Ari Costa, Chris Castaldi, Nick Van Dyk, Thorsten Shumacher, Sarah Halley Finn, and Zoe Saldaña.

'The Bluff' releases February 25 on Prime Video.
