LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prime Video's popular superhero satire series, 'The Boys,' is set to conclude soon.

Although the show was renewed for a fifth season in May, creator and showrunner Eric Kripke announced on June 11 via Instagram and X that Season 5 will be its final season.

Kripke shared the news just before the Season 4 premiere, stating, "TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is the perfect time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season! Which was always my plan, I just had to be cagey about it until I got final permission from @voughtintl."

He expressed excitement about concluding the series with an epic and emotional climax, urging fans to enjoy Season 4, which recently premiered on Prime Video.

On that note, here's what we can expect from 'The Boys' Season 5.

In Season 4 of 'The Boys,' the focus has been on exploring the characters' deepest fears and unresolved issues.

Creator Eric Kripke likened the season to the middle part of a three-act film, describing it as the darkest and most introspective phase.

According to Deadline, Kripke said, "It's where the characters confront their existential trauma before diving into the thrilling climax."

Eric Kripke shared with Deadline that the writers' room spent weeks discussing the mythology and big concepts for 'The Boys' Season 5.

He has a clear vision of how the series will conclude, envisioning the moment when the screen shows 'six months later' and reveals where each character has ended up.

Kripke mentioned, "I can already write the last 10 pages of this story."

In another interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kripke explained that while he knows the endpoint of the series, the details are still being fleshed out to leave space for creative input from the writers.

He emphasized, "I don't have every step planned, but I know where we're headed."

'The Boys' revolves around numerous characters and plotlines, but its core lies in the relationship between adversaries Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Antony Starr).

In 'The Boys' Season 3 premiere, Homelander hinted at a potentially destructive fate for him and Butcher, which seems likely to unfold in Season 5.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Eric Kripke said that the show is fundamentally about the collision between Butcher and Homelander. 'You can't sustain that forever; they have to collide,' Kripke said.

Kripke also told Variety, "This specific storyline between Butcher and Homelander is coming to an end." However, he noted that while 'The Boys' will conclude with its fifth season, there are plans for other stories and spin-offs within the same universe.

While several spin-offs are already underway, including the college-focused 'Gen V' and a Mexico-based series in development, Kripke confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the main storyline of 'The Boys' will wrap up, with potential for more spin-offs yet to be announced.

As of now, nothing has been confirmed regarding the release date for 'The Boys' Season 5.

"We're looking to start shooting around mid-November," Kripke informed Variety. "I'm not sure when it'll premiere yet, but filming will continue well into 2025," he added.

Kripke also confirmed that, like previous seasons, the final season will consist of 8 episodes. With filming expected to stretch into 2025, likely, Season 5 won't debut until 2026.
