LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: With just a month left for the most-anticipated summer flick to hit the screens, 'Barbie' has come out with yet another exciting teaser. Warner Bros released a short teaser giving us a peek into the pink, animated but strange world of Barbie Land.

The new teaser tells us a little more about Greta Gerwig's upcoming film. The appearances made by the human characters of Will Ferrell and America Ferrera leave a lot to be questioned and speculated about 'Barbie'. But it still adds to what we have come to know about the film so far.

What do we know about 'Barbie?'

Before this new teaser, 'Barbie' has previously released the first teaser trailer along with two trailers. It has become quite clear that the director and writer, Gerwig, has surpassed all expectations and has created a completely different narrative out of the beloved doll. She brings down the fourth wall of the window box that the world of Barbie exists in and traverses between the now double worlds of Barbie Land and the "Real World."

What we have learned so far about the film is that we will be introduced to the magical and almost utopian yet oddly absurd world of Barbie Land. In a surprising twist, Barbie, portrayed by Margot Robbie, loses her doll abilities, which range from having high-heeled feet to being able to effortlessly drop from a roof to a car while walking on air. Barbie embarks on a journey to the 'Real World' to uncover the truth about the universe, accompanied by her steadfast partner Ken, played by Ryan Gosling. Together, they embark on an adventure into the realm of humans.

New Teaser reveals humans in Barbie Land

The new teaser's surprising reveal was the introduction of humans visiting Barbie Land. Released as a treat to celebrate the first day of summer, this teaser is the first to showcase the interaction of Barbie with humans for the first time. The teaser opens with a shocked exclamation of "Where are we?!" as we are treated to the enchanting sights of Barbie Land. Barbie is then seen driving around with two individuals who appeared in previous trailers: America Ferrera and 15-year-old Ariana Greenblatt, portraying the human characters. Barbie gradually reveals to them the truth about her world, or at least what she knows of it. Most of the human beings' questions receive cryptic half-answers that fail to provide substantive information to us or to the characters within the movie.

In Barbie Land, we also encounter a group of humans represented by Mattel's authoritative figure portrayed by Will Ferrell, accompanied by his two subordinates played by Connor Swindells and Jamie Demetriou, known for their roles in 'Sex Education'. Ferrell's character, who had previously posed a threat to confine Barbie back in her box, experiences a reversal of roles as Kate McKinnon's more grounded and wise portrayal of Barbie seems to have intimidated him. "I thought we discontinued her," he exclaims after letting out a scream.

The teaser has further intensified the anticipation for 'Barbie,' and it would be an understatement to describe it as anything less than a highly anticipated and groundbreaking cinematic event. The film is poised to make a significant impact upon its release, marking a historic moment in cinema. The film will be out in theaters on July 21, 2023.
