BOISE, IDAHO: Lori Vallow, a Idaho cult mother, also dubbed as Doomsday mom, who was convicted of killing her two children and conspiring to kill her husband’s previous wife, spoke in the court today before being sentenced to life without parole. Vallow claimed that she communicates with her dead children and other relatives in heaven.

The cult mom, who would say her children were 'zombies', said she knows they are ‘very happy and busy’ in heaven and that no one was murdered in this case. She blamed the deaths on ‘accidents and suicide’ and said that Jesus Christ knows the truth of what happened.

What did Lori Vallow say in court?

Lori Vallow Daybell had police on her after she failed to reveal the whereabouts of her children 16-year-old Tylee Ryan and seven-year-old Joshua 'JJ' Vallow to her grandparents in 2019. It later transpired into a nationwide search until the children's remains were found at her and their husband's property. It was subsequently revealed how Lori and her husband formed a cult of killing and torturing children.

"I mourn with all of you who mourn my children and Tammy,’ said Vallow, referring to Tammy Daybell, the former wife of her fifth husband Chad Daybell, who was also killed as reported by Daily Mail. "Jesus Christ knows the truth of what happened here. Jesus Christ knows no one was murdered in this case. Accidental deaths happen, suicides happen, fatal side effects of medications happen," she added.

'I’ve had many communications with Jesus Christ'

She further said revealing that her bizarre cult faith was still intact. "I have access to heaven and the spirit world. I have had many communications from people now living in heaven, including my children, my sisters, my aunts and my uncle and my grandparents," she said as per the publication. "I’ve had many communications with Jesus Christ and our heavenly parents, and many angelic visitors. Because of these communications, I know for a fact that my children are happy and busy in the spirit world. I know my friend Tammy Daybell is also very happy and extremely busy." Vallow’s lawyer asked the judge to give her a 20-year minimum sentence, saying that she was a "misunderstood person" who deserved "hope" and that the world would be a better place with ‘hope’. He quoted Martin Luther King Jr, saying: "Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

A mother killing her children is a most 'unimaginable  type of murder'

He argued that Vallow could change her behaviour and help other inmates if she had the incentive to be a model prisoner. However, Judge Steven Boyce rejected his plea and sentenced Vallow to life without parole, saying that she showed no remorse or empathy for her victims. "Something radically changed in you that led you to where you are today." He said a mother killing her children is a most "unimaginable  type of murder." The judge said she had no remorse for her crimes and for those who searched for her children when they were missing.

Lori's husband, Chad Daybell, is slated to stand trial for the same crime. In addition, Vallow Daybell is accused of planning with her brother to kill her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, as well as her niece's ex-husband in two separate instances in Arizona. Although Charles Vallow was shot and died in 2019, her niece's ex managed to survive a subsequent attempt.
