CHINOOK, MONTANA: Edmund Davis, the 36-year-old supposed boyfriend of runaway teen Alicia Navarro, faces multiple child sexual abuse charges after police found harrowing material on his cellphone.

Davis was arrested in Chinook, Montana, on Monday, October 23, and later charged with two felony counts of abuse of children related to suspected child sexual abuse content found on his cellphone, as per the Montana Attorney General’s Office.

His cellphone and other devices were seized for examination just a few days after Navarro, who went missing from her home in Arizona in 2019 at the age of 14, walked into a Havre, Montana police station asking to be taken off the missing persons list.

After interviewing Navarro, authorities obtained a search warrant for the apartment where she had been living with Davis, who previously worked at a Walmart store.

The officers removed three electronic devices from the house: an Xbox One, an HP laptop, and a cellphone, which Davis had apparently thrown in the garbage.

All of the items were sent back to the Glendale Police Department for further analysis, according to the New York Post.

What did the authorities find on Edmund Davis' cell phone?

On Edmund Davis' cellphone, police discovered more than 80 pictures showing child exploitation and sexual abuse.

Early in August, the Glendale Police Department was given access to the data on the devices in an effort to discover more about Alicia Navarro's disappearance from her family's Glendale home.

"Following their protocols, Glendale Police selected ten images from those found and brought them to medical experts. The review determined the individuals depicted to be under the age of 13, with two images of children under the age of 5," according to the release and charging documents.

Searches of other devices owned by Davis concluded they "contained images of infants and toddlers and other computer-generated or animated content showing children being sexualized."

Davis is being held at the Hill County Detention Center in Havre on a $1 million bail. His first count of sexual abuse of children carries a 100-year prison sentence, 25 of which may not be suspended or deferred.

His second count of child abuse has an imprisonment range of four years to life, according to USA Today.

Why was Edmund Davis fired from his job at Walmart?

Alicia Navarro's supposed boyfriend, Edmund Davis, used to work at Walmart, but he was due to his aggressive behavior towards co-workers and customers.

"He would call younger guys names and stuff. I’m not sure of the names. He was being very aggressive. Within a year or two, his attitude has changed at work," said a former co-worker, as per the NY Post.

The co-worker also revealed that Davis would refer to Navarro as his niece and that she was "too young" to go to bars with them.

"They were using the cover…about it being his niece," stated an employee, adding, "He always had a hard shell. He wouldn’t talk a lot. He would be very defensive when someone would talk about him. It’s kinda a confusing thought that someone can do all that and hide it all and not show any emotion."
