Weng Sor: Brooklyn U-Haul driver, 62, charged with murder as cops reveal disturbing details
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY: Weng Sor, 62, a convict who ran over at least eight people during an over-hour-long frenzy in Brooklyn was charged with murder on Tuesday, February 14. The U-Haul driver who is being investigated by cops on what led to this bloody act is found to be suffering from a "mental health crisis” during the fatal Monday morning killing one man and injuring several others.
“He states when he’s driving his van, he sees an invisible object come towards the car and at that point, he says, ‘I’ve had enough’ and he goes on his rampage,'” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said at a press briefing as he made the charges public. “There was no object.” As per New York Post, “We have a lot of information from his family, who confirmed that he was off his medication. He does say to the police when he’s arrested, ‘You should have shot me.'”

'Shoot me. I'm not stopping'
The record shows Sor, who drove a rented van in West Palm Beach, Florida, on February 1 was recently pulled over by the cops. One incident was reported five days earlier on the Belt Parkway, where he was stopped for speeding and driving a commercial vehicle, and the second incident took place in South Carolina on February 5, where he was ticketed for reckless driving. NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said that Sor hit people along the road, creating at least seven different crime scenes. "Shoot me. I'm not stopping," he told the officer when they tried to pull him over, reports MEAWW.
'Emotionally disturbed'
Among the victims, two are in critical condition, two are in serious condition, and four suffered minor injuries. Weng Sor's son has now claimed that his father was "emotionally disturbed" and homeless at the time of the incident and often skipped his medication.
This is a developing story. MEAWW will keep you updated.
