RADOM, POLAND: Hulu just dropped the first three episodes of 'We Were the Lucky Ones' on Thursday, March 28.

Starring Joey King, Logan Lerman, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Amit Rahav, Hadas Yaron, Michael Aloni, and Sam Woolf in the lead roles, the series explores the Holocaust through the perspective of the Kurc family, delving into their experiences and struggles during this tragic period in history.

At the start of Episode 2, Halina Kurc (Joey King) and Bella (Eva Feiler) embark on a journey to Lvov in search of Jakub and the other brothers. However, their path is filled with numerous challenges and dangers.

Halina and Bella prepare for their journey to Lvov, gathering supplies before setting off with a horse-drawn carriage arranged by Sol Kurc, Halina's father (Lior Ashkenazi).

At their first checkpoint, things go smoothly as their papers are checked. While Bella is being interrogated, Halina intervenes by fabricating a lie, claiming Bella is pregnant and they're traveling to her family. This convinces the soldiers to let them pass without further scrutiny.

However, trouble arises at the next checkpoint, where the language barrier leads to tension with the German soldiers. Halina tries to offer the soldiers some money when a soldier draws his gun on her. This traumatizes Halina as she had never seen a gun in her life before. The entire ordeal gives her a panic attack.

Bella tries to defuse the situation by suggesting they turn back. Yet, she is determined to press on, and they learn they're only a kilometer away from the border from a helpful bystander.

Halina and Bella start walking but soon encounter soldiers and their dogs, surrounding them viciously. Luckily for them, they hear the soldiers speak in Russian and find out that they are from the Red Army.

Halina takes a bold step by standing up and declaring their presence to the soldiers. She explains that they are lost travelers seeking friendly assistance, asking for a meal and shelter. The soldiers then escort them back to their camp, where they spend the night in one of the tents.

Here, Bella apologizes to Halina for bringing her along, expressing her regret. However, Halina offers moral support to Bella, reassuring her that they will reach Lvov safely.

Despite being in an unfamiliar camp amid a war-torn Poland, they stand by each other, providing emotional comfort and aid. They thank the soldiers the next day and continue their journey.

Finally, Bella and Halina make it to Jakub’s house, but not everything is the same between Halina and Adam (Sam Woolf). Watch the entire Episode 2 of 'We Were the Lucky Ones' to know what happens next.

The first 3 episodes of 'We Were the Lucky Ones' are streaming on Hulu.
