ALLEN, TEXAS: Speculation is rife regarding the identity of the shooter, who opened fire inside a Texas Mall killing nine people and injuring seven others. The unidentified shooter stormed into the Allen Premium Outlets before 3.00 pm on Saturday, May 6, and carried out the attack with an AR-15-style rifle, according to reports.

The shooter was gunned down by a cop on the scene for an unrelated call, who responded after hearing the gunshots outside the H&M. Witnesses described the gunman as a "large guy" carrying a firearm while sporting all-black SWAT gear. Local police sources initially said that there may have been two attackers, one killed by first responders and another who was on the loose, However, authorities now believed the mystery gunman in the video acted alone. Following the tragedy, a video has been circulating on the internet which purportedly shows the body of the alleged shooter lying outside a store.

'This is the Texas cartel gang tattoo'

Many social media users investigated the details of the video and discovered a tattoo on the alleged shooter’s hand that they claimed belonged to a cartel gang. “This is the Texas cartel gang tattoo. My rights will not be threatened because the cartel is running wild all over the southwestern US, including Colorado,” a user wrote while sharing a close-up of the shooter’s hand. “For those claiming this a not a cartel tattoo, there are no organic American gangs in Texas. The cartel killed them all over the last 20 years. Welcome to today,” another user added.

“The shooter was a Cartel operative! He has a Texas Cartel gang tattoo on his hand,” another user wrote while a third said, “Is the Allen Texas shooter an illegal alien? A cartel member? Is there a cover-up going on? The FBI is too corrupt to be allowed to stay in business.” “This is what happens when you have open borders. The Mexican cartel is running Texas now,” another asserted.

However, there were also some users who strictly refuted the claims. “For ppl talking about the "cartel tattoo" on the shooter's hand for Allen, Texas that's the f***ing Dallas logo,” one user said while another added, “One would think that if he is cartel, then he would have access to automatic weapons.”

'He was just shooting his gun everywhere'

An eyewitness told CNN that the shooter was seen getting out of his car before "shooting his gun everywhere for the most part" on the sidewalk. The eyewitness said, "The door opened and I was letting the customers come inside the store. He was pretty much walking down the sidewalk and blazing for the most part and shooting his gun outside the store. He was walking down the sidewalk towards Fat Burger and he was just shooting his gun everywhere for the most part."
