'Van Helsing' Season 4 will see Sam at his most dangerous and Vanessa may not be able to handle Dracula and the Fourth Elder
Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton) has had a very complicated relationship with the deaf killer Samuel (Christopher Heyerdahl). Sam started out as an ally of Vanessa's in the early days of 'Van Helsing', until he was revealed to be a psychopathic killer who has been secretly hunting the human survivors of the vampire Rising.
After Vanessa left him for dead, Sam was turned into a vampire and became deadlier than ever. Finally free of the shackles of his humanity, Sam began to revel in his undead nature, fully enjoying his new role as an apex predator.
As dangerous as he was before, season 3 turned Sam into something much, much worse. Throughout the season, Vanessa was on a quest to find and kill the Dark One, the sire of all vampires.
To do this, she needed to first find the Four Elders, extremely powerful vampires who each had a totem in their possession. Vanessa learned that when the totems are brought together, they can be used to find the Dark One and this is what she set out to do, killing the first three Elders before running into Sam.
Vanessa and Sam's battle was interrupted by the Oracle (Jesse Stanley) who revealed that the Fourth Elder wasn't someone who existed, rather it was a being that was yet to come. The vampire revealed that it was Sam's destiny to become the Fourth and most powerful Elder by killing the one person that he loved, his former best friend Mohamad (Trezzo Mahoro).
Though Vanessa tried to stop him, Sam successfully burns away the last of his humanity by killing Mohamad, completing his transformation into the Fourth Elder and taking on a monstrous, demonic form complete with devilish horns. Even as a human, Sam was a strong and formidable fighter and being turned into a vampire only served to make him even more of a killer.
Now that he's fulfilled his destiny to become the last Elder, the amount of power at his disposal might just be too much for Vanessa to handle. And with Dracula (Tricia Helfer), the original Dark One, arriving on the show, it looks like things are going to be getting a whole lot bloodier.
'Van Helsing' Season 4 will be coming to Syfy on September 27.
