UVALDE, TEXAS: A Texas official claims that the Uvalde school shooter Salvador Ramos wrote LOL on a classroom whiteboard using the blood of his victims during his shooting rampage. The awful acts of Ramos, 18, who murdered 21 people at Robb Elementary School, were presented at a hearing on Tuesday, April 18.
Family members of the murdered students and teachers gasped and sobbed when state Rep Joe Moody, a Democrat from El Paso who was involved in the investigation of the tragedy, revealed the chilling details. The disturbing information was not revealed until many hours into a state house committee hearing that began Tuesday morning, April 18, and lasted late into the night. Grieving relatives had waited for hours to appear before the committee to make their case for stricter gun control regulations.

'The cops gave him enough time to become bored'
Rep Moody stated during the hearing, "The attacker scooped up the blood of his victims and smeared it into his disgusting message. What he wrote in innocent blood next to that was the phrase 'LOL,'" reports NBC News. On social media, many people shared their reactions to these unsettling details. One user on Reddit noted, "The dude had time to do all that while the cops sat back and relaxed. Awful all around." A second user wrote, "The cops literally gave him enough time to become fucking bored." A shocked user said, "God, what a sick and disgusting human being, i feel so bad for the families that still have to deal with the effects of this absolutely horrible tragedy." Another person tweeted, "Hope that helps the coward cops sleep better. writing in blood takes awhile. must have had lots of time on his hands." Another person tweeted, "Disgusting but the fact is he had plenty of time to do it since he was armed better than cowards listening at the door!"

Will raising the minimum age to buy guns help?
The member of the committee at the State House discussed a plan that would raise the legal buying age for semi-automatic guns from 18 to 21. Rep Tracy King, a Democrat from Uvalde, introduced the bill and it is currently under consideration.
The bill would help increase the minimum age required to purchase semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines and calibers bigger than .22. Families in mourning had to wait 13 hours to give testimony before pleading with Texas lawmakers to make changes. Kimberly Rubio, one of the grieving parents, said that her daughter would still be alive if the age restriction had been in place prior to the atrocity.
Rubio claimed that the shooter would not have been able to purchase the semi-automatic rifle "he used to murder our daughter and 20 others eight days after his 18th birthday." Some individuals spoke against the bill, including a local lobbyist for the National Rifle Association.
Stephen Willeford, who in 2017 confronted a shooter who killed 26 people inside a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, using his own firearm, said why he was opposed to the proposal. "If you think he couldn’t have found a gun other ways or waited until he was 21 to do his murder spree, you are wrong," Willeford said of the Uvalde shooter.
