BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: 'Beverly Hills Cop' has returned with a dose of nostalgia after a gap of 30 years. Eddie Murphy reprises the role of street-smart cop Axel Foley, known for his unconventional ways of solving crimes.

In the fourth installment of the franchise, Axel has a lot more at stake. His daughter Jane, takes up a pro-bono case and ends up being threatened by masked men.

As the news reaches Axel, located in Detroit, he rushes to Beverly Hills to take the matter into his own hands.

'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F' carries the weight of a blockbuster franchise. Upholding the legacy, the latest release delivers some remarkably funny moments.

1. Arena theft and snowplough chase

'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F' is able to hold our interest in the opening scene. Axel attends a game with a cop buddy who has no idea what Axel is up to.

The interaction between the duo is quite funny and we once again realise why we love Axel so much. All he wants is to catch the thieves who are about to rob the arena while he is okay to let his cop friend have all the credit.

The violent altercation soon turns into a comic chase as Axel gets on a snowplough to catch his targets. He ends up damaging the public property and police vehicles and he isn't even apologetic about it.

2. Axel Foley and Jane Saunders's conversation in car

Axel doesn't share a healthy relationship with his daughter Jane Saunders (Taylour Paige). They blame each other for being estranged. And yet, none of them are apologetic about it.

Jane wants Axel gone but he isn't ready to risk her safety. There's a moment when Jane is driving and is least interested in having a conversation with Axel.

Axel, who is seated in the passenger seat, addresses Jane's decision to drop his last name from hers. He asserts that Foley is a word that brings a smile to the face whenever pronounced while Saunders is a dull name.

This nonsensical conversation between the estranged father-daughter duo is quite refreshing as we are saved by the emotional banter.

3. Visit to the impound

Axel turns on his detective mode as he visits the impound to take a look at Copeland's car. As Beverly Hills isn't his jurisdiction, he pulls off some smart tricks to get access.

His cunning conversation with the boy at reception, who also happens to be a small-time actor is quite funny.

Once they get the access, Axel puts two and two together and realizes why some men broke into the impound last night.

The scene also establishes that Alex and Jane make a good team.

4. The great escape through stolen helicopter

Detective Sam Abbott (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Axel are set up by Cade Grant in a fake drug bust and are brought into the police station.

Axel uses his tricks to free himself and Abbott, and they go to the rooftop of the police station.

Axel's escape plan hinges on Abbott piloting the helicopter. Unfortunately, Axel discovers too late that Abbott can no longer fly; he crashed a helicopter when he was a pilot and still hasn't overcome his fear.

It's a hell of a ride as they fly through the streets, dodging bullets until crashing it on a golf course.

5. The resolution

Axel, who is a comic protagonist, channels his emotional side as he reconciles with his daughter in the final moments of the film.

It is heart-warming to see both of them ready to address their differences and start on a fresh note.

As his daughter helps him walk out of the café, it makes us realize how much time has passed in Axel's life and ours, with a gap of thirty years in the franchise.
