If you have seen ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, then you know that the movie finishes with the words ‘THOR WILL RETURN’. Although the latest edition in the ‘Thor’ universe has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as audiences, everyone is happy to learn that the God of Thunder will return for another outing. However, there’s one person who was taken by surprise when he saw those three words appear on the screen and that was none other than Chris Hemsworth.

Yes, you heard it right. The God of Thunder was himself surprised to learn that he will return for another movie. The latest entrant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sees Thor coming out of retirement to fight Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) alongside King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). In the end, Foster helps Thor in defeating the villain when he was really close to killing the God of Thunder. They destroy the Necrosword and with Gorr poised to make his wish, Gorr tells Eternity to revive her daughter Love (India Hemsworth) and asks Thor to take care of his daughter.

As soon as the movie ends, ‘THOR WILL RETURN’, appears on the screen and the lights go out. But it seems Hemsworth didn’t about it and was surprised when he saw them appear on the screen while watching the movie at the world premiere last month.

In a recent interview, the ‘Avengers’ star revealed that he actually asked his co-star Natalie Portman if those words were for her or for him because he hadn’t even had a conversation about returning as Thor again. Speaking to USA Today, the actor opened up about his reaction and said, “Wait, um, what? Can I be honest? I asked Natalie today, I was like, Is that you or me? That was a surprise to me. I literally said to Natalie, 'Are they talking about you or me?' Because I don't know.”

He made it clear that there has been no conversation about him returning for the next Thor movie. But fans shouldn’t be worried because the actor is always “game” to playing the God of Thunder. He added, “I love playing this character, and until someone says 'We're done with you,' I'll keep giving it a crack.”

Hemsworth has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since 2011 and appeared as Thor for the first time in the movie ‘Thor’. In 2012, he returned as the God of Thunder in the ‘Avengers’ movie. Since then, the Aussie actor has been featured in six more MCU movies and portrayed the aforementioned role. Over the years, we have seen Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans leaving the MCU after ‘Avengers: Endgame’. It doesn’t come as a shock when we hear Hemsworth might leave the franchise and get ready to work in different genres of movies.

But it seems Thor’s journey is going to get more intense as Hercules is coming after him. In the end credits scene, we saw Russell Crowe’s Zeus telling his son Hercules (Brett Goldstein) to instill fear among people and make gods supreme again. It looks like a new threat is coming and we might need Thor once again to defeat the enemies.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is currently playing in theatres.
