In order to promote the film, Hemsworth made his official debut on the short-form viral video app TikTok on Saturday and gained almost 600,000 followers immediately.

His video on the app contains a montage of several clips from the ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ world premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles last month where he and his co-stars from the film met and greeted their fans.

In the nearly 40-second video clip, the ‘Thor’ franchise star showed glimpses of himself and his co-stars getting cozy with fans for selfies, signing autographs, and greeting attendees as well.

He captioned the Tiktok video, “'Sydney fans! LA fans! Love you guys! Thor: Love and Thunder opens Wednesday in Australia and Friday in the U.S.”

Chris posted a video on his Instagram handle too. His caption for the post read, “The best fans in the world! This is all about you! #ThorLoveAndThunder is in theaters Friday.”

In an interview with Variety on the red carpet of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ last month, Chris Hemsworth opened up on the naked butt scene in the film. Sharing his excitement, he said, “Well, I had my butt out in Rush many years ago, but in a Marvel film, it was a very large screen, it was a very big pair of cheeks. I don't know, I've seen it before. Whatever”.

He also added, “It was 10 years in the making, that scene, a dream of mine. The first time I played Thor I took my shirt off and I thought, You know what's gonna sweeten this. A decade from now, it's all going to come off”.

The official synopsis for the film reads, “Thor embarks on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced a quest for inner peace. However, his retirement gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who to his surprise inexplicably wields his magical hammer. Together, they set out on a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance”.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ also stars Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Russell Crowe alongside Christian Bale in pivotal roles. The movie releases in theatres on July 8, 2022.
