LUBBOCK, TEXAS: A Michigan pedophile showed no remorse while he was sentenced to life in prison for stalking and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Texas girl. Thomas John Boukamp, 22, was convicted earlier this week in Lubbock while he stood trial for his crimes and even told the authorities on Thursday, October 20, that he received the right sentence, according to US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad Meacham.
In June this year, Boukamp was convicted on 16 counts which include one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual conduct, one count of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, one count of enticement of a minor, two counts of receipt of child pornography, 10 counts of production and attempted production of child pornography, and one count of cyber stalking.

According to the court documents, Boukamp started talking to the victim on the instant messaging platform, Discord, when she was 13. The duo exchanged a series of messages where he threatened to hurt the teen's family if she revealed their promising 'relationship' to anyone else. He picked the victim in November 2020 from Lubbock to his Michigan home.
Boukamp unsuccessfully tried to convince the jury that the relationship was consensual but the victim denied his claims by saying that there was no relationship and consent. “This man stalked and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old, then had the gall to claim in federal court that their so-called ‘relationship’ was consensual,” Meacham said in a Thursday news release. “The child, who bravely faced her abuser in court, asserted in no uncertain terms that his advances were unwelcome. By law, 14-year-olds simply cannot consent to sexual contact with adults. We are immensely proud of this child and hope this sentence brings some solace to her and her family.”
Once Boukamp brought the girl to his home, he removed her braces forcefully with pliers and sexually assaulted her several times in a day. Prosecutors said that he even hit and strangled her. The victim's father testified at the trial his daughter was so frightened, she took her baby blanket with her when she left for Michigan.
A recorded jailhouse phone call presented by the prosecutors at Thursday's sentence hearing revealed that Boukamp would not apologize for “quote unquote raping a 14-year-old.”
“I like teenage girls! They don’t like that I like that,” he said of federal agents and prosecutors. “I frankly don’t care what the morality of this current time and place says. It’s not wrong. There’s nothing wrong about it. And they’re not going to ever convince me of its wrongness. So up theirs. I hate this nation.” He then threatened, “If you’re listening to this, yeah, your family is going to die,” when he was reminded that authorities were monitoring his jailhouse calls.
The victim's father submitted a sentence to the court where he described the pain his daughter has to undergo each and every single day. “Her childhood was ended too soon. He took that from her,” he said in the letter. “She struggles with her self-esteem. I don’t know if she’ll ever be able to truly love herself again… We hope that she can be okay. We hope that she can make it through this. We know that she will never be the same. We know that she will never get her innocence back.”
The judge chastised Boukamp and called his explanations “very disrespectful.” “You used the internet to find and prey on young girls,” Judge Hendrix said. “You tormented her, you manipulated her into sending you images, you tortured her into going with you. You told her you would murder her family, you raped her…strangled her and many other things." He then added, "You have one of the highest offense levels I have ever seen at 52, we only go up to 43. You are a dangerous pedophile. You think the laws are unjust. I agree with the government blaming your situation on being diagnosed on the autism spectrum is very disrespectful to those who have autism. I see no atonement, acceptance or remorse from you. I have to consider your risk to society which is significant.”
