'This is Us' Season 4 Episode 10: It may be the beginning of end of Kate and Toby's marriage based on Thanksgiving episode's Easter egg

In the last episode, we saw Toby learning about the fact that baby Jack had his first solid food before he gave it to him and had been taking shots at Kate for allowing it to happen.

For four years 'This is Us' has kept us on our toes, and the Season 4 fall finale was no exception. The episode had everything we wanted in a 'This is Us' episode, including the introduction of new Jack Pearson-based (Milo Ventimiglia) Thanksgiving tradition - five pounds of Thanksgiving shrimp. There was a lot of family tension, which is customary for all Thanksgiving dinners we suppose, and potentially the beginning of the end of a marriage.

There are many perfect couples on 'This is Us' starting with Jack and Rebecca (Mandy Moore), and over the years they have all proved to be OTPs for several reasons. Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) have created a beautiful love story for us to enjoy, and yet since the beginning of this season, it seems like they just cannot be in sync. The showrunners had warned us that having a child will take a toll on their marriage, but we hadn't expected it to end their marriage.

In the last episode, we saw Toby learning about the fact that baby Jack had his first solid food before he gave it to him and had been taking shots at Kate for allowing it to happen. Meanwhile, Kate is upset that Toby lost his weight without her, even though the plan was to lose it together. And, unfortunately instead of talking about these issues with each other, they have been going to other people, and as Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) warned Kate in 'Goodbye, Marianne', that is where the marriage starts decaying.

In the upcoming Season 2 Episode 10, we will see Kate finally talking about this with her husband, and hopefully, they go for therapy and sort their issues out, but that tiny Easter Egg at the end of Episode 9, where we see Kat signing her name as Kate Pearson, lead us to believe that maybe Kate is divorced from Toby. Now, it could just be that Kate is a modern woman who does not want to change her last name after marriage, but our spidey senses are telling us otherwise. 'This is Us' showrunners are not going to focus on the sign unless it means something... Or they are trying to throw us off.

Hopefully, Season 2 Episode 10, which is scheduled to premiere after the mid-season break on January 14, will answer all our questions regarding Kate and Toby's marriage.
