'The Voice' Season 18: Coach John Legend steals CammWess from Kelly Clarkson and fans love the reunion
The second pairing of the premiere episode of the knockout rounds was from Team Kelly Clarkson — CammWess and Megan Danielle.
Megan chose 'Piece By Piece' by Kelly Clarkson to honor her grandfather and coach Kelly was extremely emotional during the rehearsal after listening to how her mentee was bringing out the true essence of the song while adding her personal touch to it. Special coach James Taylor advised her to look up and make eye contact because that would make the performance more powerful. CammWess was stolen by Kelly Clarkson in the battle rounds from team John Legend. He chose to go with 'Say Something' by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera and was killing it in the rehearsal.
Taylor mentioned that both the performers are understated and it would be tough for Kelly to make a choice.
After CammWess and Megan Danielle performed, it was the former who was chosen as the winner of this battle and it was time for the former to go back home, but was it? Former coach John Legend and 'The Voice' newbie coach Nick Jonas both pressed their steal button for CammWess. This says a lot about him as a performer because all the coaches only have one steal button in the knockouts and for both of them to exercise the use of that button, that's very telling of CammWest's power as a musical artist.
CammWess, in the end, decided to go "back home" and chose his ex-coach John Legend to coach him for the rest of the show.
Fans of the show were extremely happy with the mentor-mentee pair reuniting.
A fan of the show wrote, "Thank you for stealing Cam! After his performance, there was no way he should've gone home! @johnlegend #VoiceKnockouts."
While another fan wrote, "@johnlegend #VoiceKnockouts Thank you for stealing Cam back. Please hold on to him." Another tweet read, "@johnlegend #VoiceKnockouts you are one lucky coach to get Cam back! Be nice to him!"
