Who is Cam Anthony?

Cam is a talented 19-year-old musician from Philadelphia who first shot to fame after he won the FOX revival of ‘Showtime at the Apollo’ in 2018. However, that did not land him big projects until he cleared the audition of ‘The Voice’ Season 20 this year and ultimately winning the singing reality show under the guidance of coach Blake. He reportedly took home the prize money worth $100K and a record deal with Universal Music Group. Cam had performed 'Lay Me Down' for the season premiere whereas, for the finale, the young crooner first sang Cynthia Erivo's ‘Stand Up’ and then gave a thrilling performance on Bon Jovi's ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’.

The teen singer is also a former YouTube sensation where he regularly used to upload his renditions of popular songs. Cam was raised in a church choir and has lent his voice to commercials for Folgers Coffee as a child. He started sharing videos on YouTube at the age of 11 and got highly praised for his coves on songs like ‘When I Was Your Man’ by Bruno Mars and ‘Royals’ by Lorde. Cam was picked to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" on the Truman Balcony for Barack Obama at the White House Easter Egg Roll in 2014. And, if that was not enough, he also made a guest appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ the same year.

Where is Cam Anthony now?

Cam had quite a roller coaster journey on Season 20 of ‘The Voice’. After securing the first position, Blake took to Twitter to congratulate the young lad saying, “Cam, your artistry has shown through all season and your impact to this show will live on for a lifetime. Congratulations on the big win! Now time to celebrate!!!!!!"

After grabbing the top prize, Cam's social media stats witnessed a sharp rise. The singer-songwriter then again got the opportunity to come as a guest on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ in June 2021. He was also shown the footage of him coming on the show at the age of 12. In July, Cam was picked for the annual Philadelphia Welcome America Festival. He performed alongside Philly Pops orchestra in a lineup that also featured Bebe Rexha and Flo Rida.

Shedding light on his future plans, the California native earlier told TV Insider, “I definitely want to start making or releasing music. I want to be able to tell stories in [any] way I can. I like to write poetry.” He continued, “I like to write short stories and I just want to be able to explore my artistry and continue to do that the same way I’ve been doing on the show. So you can expect a lot of interesting things coming your way for sure.” Cam is yet to release an original track. His Spotify and YouTube accounts still list his ‘The Voice’ performances.
