'The Voice' Season 20 Eliminations: Dana Monique loses top 5 spot to Jordan Matthew Young, fans call it a 'joke'
The final nine brought their A-game to the semifinals of 'The Voice' in the latest episode, making it almost impossible for fans to choose the top five who would go through to next week's finale of Season 20. While the most favorite contestant from each team automatically went through to the finals, the remaining artists had to battle it out on the show for an Instant Save and a spot in the finals.
Team Kelly's Corey Ward, Gihanna Zoe and Kenzie Wheeler were up on stage first. Kelly told Corey that he scored a touchdown. Gihanna, of course, was a fan favorite after her rendition of 'Reflection'. But ultimately, the top votes on Team Kelly went to the man with the mullet, Kenzie Wheeler, while Corey and Gihanna battled it out for the Instant Save.

Team Legend was up on the stage next with Victor Solomon and Pia Renee. Victor said that his performance on the last episode was not about competition, but helping fans focus on their relationship with god. It seems that his prayers were answered, as Victor won the most votes. Pia then had to prepare to battle it out for the Instant Save.
Up next was Team Nick with two powerhouse performers Rachel Mac and Dana Monique. While Dana has gone from strength to strength with each performance, it was ultimately Rachel who received the most votes, moving onto the finals, while Dana had to battle it out for an Instant Save. Fans were disappointed for Dana. One fan tweeted, "Really Rachel over Dana?!? #TheVoice." Another tweeted, "The fact that Dana hasn’t gone through yet is wrong on so many damn levels!!!! #TheVoice."

Team Blake was up on stage next with Cam Anthony and Jordan Matthew Young. No prizes for guessing who won the top votes as Cam moved straight to the finals, leaving Jordan to battle it out for the Instant Save. Fans were relieved that Cam was through. One fan tweeted, "I swear if Cam hadn’t made it through, @nbc would need to throw the whole competition away #TheVoice."

The first performer to sing to be saved was Pia. But while Pia is known for her strong stage presence and of course her impressive vocal talent, fans felt that with this performance she didn't do enough to be saved. One fan tweeted, "THIS is the song Pia chose for a SAVE situation??? #TheVoice." Up next it was Corey Ward singing 'Iris' for his spot in the top five. While some fans were blown away by his performance, others felt that Corey's emotional display was over the top. One fan tweeted, "is he fake crying for sympathy votes..? #TheVoice."

Next was Dana who took to the stage. Perhaps it was the disappointment of not going straight through to the finals, but for the first time in the competition, Dana was not at the top of her game. One fan tweeted, "That was NOT her A Game! #TheVoice." Other fans felt that Dana should not have even been in a position where she had to sing to be saved. One fan tweeted, "Let's go @THEDANAMONIQUE!! Take the children to school. She shouldn't even be in this position. #VoiceResults #TheVoice."

Jordan Matthew Young certainly redeemed himself after a lacklustre performance on the last episode. One fan tweeted, "@jmyoungmusic wow great performance tonight! You are the next @KidRock!!!!! #TheVoice #TeamBlake."

Gihanna was the final performance for the Instant Save and as always, she sounded and looked like poetry in motion. Fans may have thought that the competition was between Pia, Gihanna and Dana but 'The Voice' fans were in for quite a surprise as it was Jordan who finally made it through to the finals. Fans were left shocked. One fan tweeted, "This a joke right ? #TheVoice." Another fan tweeted, "are we sure this show is called The Voice? Dana and Gihanna had the best instant save performances #TheVoice." Another fan tweeted, "Nah there has to be some Blake Shelton bias here because how??? Jordan is talented but really?? It’s not adding up. #TheVoice." Another fan tweeted, "Not y’all sending all the Black women home #TheVoice."
