'The Unicorn' Season 2 Episode 2 Preview: What's so complicated about Wade and Shannon's dating life?
Wade has finally found his dream woman: After looking high and low, searching every corner of the town, and almost stalking and scarring poor kids at a local elementary school, he finally encountered Shannon once again. The two admitted to having been thinking about each other and Wade suggested they go out some time, to which Shannon agreed. So far so good, but things might not be all sunshine and rainbows for the two when the second episode of Season 2 rolls by. Even with plans of going on a date, things are about to inevitably get complicated for 'Shade'.
In Episode 2 'It's Complicated', Wade's date with Shannon has to take a backseat as the father of her child, her ex-husband who was supposed to babysit doesn't show up. Shannon, in a rush to explain her frustration and predicament ends up telling Wade she even shaved her legs for this date, and embarrassing as it might be, Wade finds that worth joking about. Seeing no other way out, Shannon suggests they dine inside, or so reveals a newly released promo of the second episode. Wade agrees and things look smooth.
But that is before the two actually get a chance to go out on a proper date night. Their dinner nears a disaster when Shannon learns he's married. Shannon doesn't know about the dead wife, so she assumed he hid his marriage from her, and soon Wade has to come clean in a restaurant full of people, clarifying his wife died, so Shannon doesn't leave him stranded there. The rest of the customers at the fancy restaurant sort of overhear Wade's proclamations and thus ensues a reel of 'awws' and sympathetic gasps and Shannon can't leave Wade at that moment. But then again, he was getting there. It's not like he had lied to her until this moment.
The official synopsis for Episode 2 also teases that "Wade goes on a date with Shannon and learns that he has to come to terms with her unusual living arrangements." The unusual living arrangements pique our curiosity and there was speculation rife about Shannon's ex-husband still living with them, despite the status of their marriage. Looks like Wade might have to get used to the one before him more often than he'd like to.
'The Unicorn' Season 2 airs on Thursdays at 10 pm on CBS.
