'RHOA' Season 14: Fans find Sanya's storyline exhausting, feel 'Drew is the show's punching bag'

Viewers of 'RHOA' believe Sanya is picking on Drew for no reason and making drama to keep the show alive

Sanya and Drew continued to feud on the most recent episode of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta.' Drew believes Sanya turned on her to be closer to Kandi and Kenya. Sanya didn't think twice about getting her talons out on Drew while the ladies were in Sanya's cookery class. Several viewers agreed with Drew, claiming that the dispute Sanya presided over was uncalled-for.

Trying to pick up where we left off last week, we now get to experience the second part of the Jamaican supper, thanks to Drew's surprise appearance. As Sanya and Drew continue to work out their differences, things swiftly jump from zero to maybe a seven or eight. Sanya's response as the newest peach bearer has been lackluster among both castmates and viewers. Some don't think she's a good match for the group, but others like how she's not afraid to plunge right in without being too thirsty, and in the most recent episode, which aired on June 19, 2022, she's been completely immersed into the Housewives Realm.

Drew Sidora and Sanya Richards-Ross begin squabbling over the New York trip after awarding Marlo and her powerful knees a real gold medal for the dutty wine event. Drew conveys her feelings of betrayal and accuses Sanya of failing to pay her beauty artist. It didn't take long for Sanya's mother to get into the fray and support her daughter. Drew was obviously horrified by Sanya's mother's comments, but it didn't stop her from voicing what she was thinking. She continued to criticize Sanya's actions, even calling her a clout chaser. When it comes to confrontation, Sanya has been relatively level-headed and direct so far, but her tolerance with Drew has officially worn out, and she offers her finest clap back yet. When Drew refers to her as a clout chaser, Sanya responds with an incredible soundbite: “I'm a four-time Olympic gold medalist; put some respect on my name!"

At the meal, there is no settlement between the two. Drew revealed during her confessional that, as friends, she thought the couple could have settled the dispute privately, but Sanya opted to bring it up in front of the group. She went on to say that her friends don't act like this, and she thought it was strange. Later, when Kenya decides to throw a girls' outing to help Shereé even more, fans get to see Drew and Sanya part two. If Sanya's first dinner was her losing her calm, this meal is her snapping. The conflicts between these two start so abruptly and intensify so soon that it's difficult to pinpoint the trigger, other than the fact that they're both always on alert. Drew had a feeling about the next MommiNation shoot this time. Sanya is fed up and begins to clear Mrs. Ralph, dredging up Drew's habit of speaking over people during heated debates. In times like this, Sanya mentions Drew employing the same gaslighting methods as Ralph. Kenya notices it as well and attempts to tell Drew about herself to no effect. Fans who saw the episode turned to social media to express their displeasure with the way Sanya went all out for Drew.

Fans didn't like the fact that Sanya's mom decided to partake in her daughter's messy fight with Drew. According to them, "#RHOA Sanya’s mom jumping in cussing is so… because if Drew were to cuss her ass right back, she’d be in the wrong. Let your delusional daughter handle the beef SHE created. Parents who don’t hold their kids accountable and allow them to do anything are SO dangerous."

Fans also feel Sanya is going after Drew every other episode, for no reason at all. Calling the beef between them fake, they wrote: "Sanya’s really popping off at Drew on a regular basis over some fake beef that she made up. #RHOA".

Some fans feel Sanya had her chance to clear things up with Drew but she chose not to. The tweet reads: "Sanya literally had a moment to clear the air with drew and still chose to act crazy in front of people #RHOA".

Certain fans sympathize with Drew for being portrayed as a "punching bag" on the show. They ask Sanya to pick on somebody else: "I’d respect Sanya more if she manufactured a storyline with someone else. Drew is the show’s punching bag. This is corny. Too easy. #RHOA".

A fan advised Sanya to regroup as they feel her strategy on the show doesn't seem to be working: "Then she made sure to invite them in front of Drew so that Drew can KNOW she’s left out. VERY tacky and unnecessary! But y’all want to be mad at Drew for speaking up?! Sanya needs to go regroup because whatever her strategy is, it’s not working. #RHOA".

One fan also made fun of the fact that Sanya failed to pay Drew's makeup artist for their work in New York. They tweeted: "Why didn’t Sanya pay the $25 for the touch up from the makeup artist as soon as he was done??? It’s giving me broke vibes #RHOA".

Sanya who went off after Drew for being called a "clout chaser" was soon called the same by fans of the show on social media: "Sanya is clout chasing. She needs an audience to have all her conversations with Drew. #RHOA".

However, one fan came to defend Sanya and recount how her achievement as a Black woman in sports should not be ignored. They wrote: "I get ppl having an issue with Sanya’s storyline, but let’s not downplay this Black woman’s accomplishments. Sanya was that girl in sports. She and her husband also were given their own reality show back in the day and she is an Olympics sports commentator. #RHOA".
