'The Purge' Season 2 Episode 2 has fans suspicious of Marcus' wife Michelle after a random attack on him on Purge night

Fans are thinking there's something extremely fishy about Marcus' hot, attractive wife who just happens to be at the most convenient places amid the activities of the night.

This article contains spoilers for season 2, episode 2.

'The Purge' is back with its second season, and two episodes in, fans have a lot of logical questions that need to be answered. Finally offering some insight into what goes on for the rest of the year after the annual Purge night ends, episode 2 - titled 'Everything is Fine', is pretty expository. There's desensitization to murder and mayhem accompanied by the brutalities of the New Founding Fathers of America or the NFFA government. But what seems to have sparked fans' intrigue the most is the possibility of one Marcus Moore's wife being responsible for him getting randomly purged this year.

A well-to-do doctor at a public hospital, Marcus is enamored by his very attractive wife, Michelle. The feeling is mutual, as is clear from the way the couple gives off romance goal vibes on Purge night by engaging in some sweet lovemaking as the tension builds up on the streets. Things, however, change when a masked and armed man invades their home that was supposedly on lockdown to keep Purgers away. Yet somehow someone manages to break in, as Marcus finds out when he wakes up in the middle of the night, with Michelle not sleeping next to him. He finds her in the kitchen, hiding under the counter, and when the two spot the invader and run from him to avoid being shot by an entire magazine, Marcus forces Michelle to hide in the safety closet of the house as he rushes out to distract the gunman. In the run and chase, the gunman gets purged by Marcus' next-door neighbors who are firing from their balcony for fun and without any purpose.

When Marcus returns home the next morning, Michelle - visibly shaken and happy as she is to have him come home safe - tries wavering him off the path of vengeance which he so desperately seeks now. Marcus claims with the recent developments, everything has changed, by this time, he has managed to retrieve his attacker's phone even though the body had been retrieved by government facilities, and through the phone, he is able to find out that he was being stalked and this wasn't a random purging. As the second episode unfolds, Marcus - with his son Darren's help - is able to figure out through the gunman's phone a secret dark web app he was using, where people can raise the bounty on someone's head, and anybody can claim the money if they kill the person whose name is listed alongside.

This has gotten fans thinking there's something extremely fishy about Marcus' hot, attractive wife who just happens to be at the most convenient places amidst the development of the night. Sure, she would have to award the person who'd kill Marcus some $75,000, but that's nothing compared to the comfort she would enjoy Marcus is out of the picture. And it's not just us with a plausible explanation. Twitter user @PaleSausages remarked: "I'm still convinced the wife was behind it." User @Brandi_C_91 also chimed in, saying: "I'm really suspicious of his wife." And honestly? They might not be entirely wrong.

'The Purge' season 2 airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm only on USA Network.
